Two years after its third season, Apple TV+’s hit drama The Morning Show is back with its much-anticipated fourth season, premiering Wednesday, September 17. Starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, the new season picks up roughly two years after audiences last saw Alex Levy (Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Witherspoon), just as the high-stakes UBA-NBN merger is about to close.
According to Apple TV+’s official synopsis, Season 4 will find the newsroom grappling with “newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America”. This time, the show plunges into timely and urgent themes such as artificial intelligence, deepfakes, conspiracy theories, and corporate cover-ups — raising the central question of who, in a fractured media landscape, can truly be trusted.
A fresh direction
Over the years, The Morning Show has boldly tackled real-world issues, weaving in storylines connected to the #MeToo movement, the COVID-19 pandemic, and even the January 6 insurrection. However, executive producer and director Mimi Leder confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the new season will not address the 2024 presidential election.
“We did not touch the election – this season ends right before the election,” Leder explained. “Our show is not about elections; our show is about the world, about AI, about deepfakes, about environmental tragedies. It’s about democracy.”

Release schedule and how to watch
The 10-episode season will roll out weekly on Apple TV+, with new instalments dropping every Wednesday through November 19. While the streamer has not confirmed an official release time, Apple often makes episodes available the evening before the listed premiere date. Viewers may be able to start streaming as early as 9:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday nights.
For those new to the platform, Apple TV+ offers a seven-day free trial, after which subscriptions cost $12.99 per month. Amazon Prime members can also sign up for Apple TV+ directly through Prime Video for the same price, including the trial period.
Cast and new additions
Much of the powerhouse ensemble from previous seasons is returning, including Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Emmy winner Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Néstor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Nicole Beharie, and Jon Hamm.
This season also welcomes a slate of new cast members, with Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, and Boyd Holbrook joining as series regulars. Their addition signals a fresh layer of intrigue and new dynamics within the newsroom and corporate drama at the heart of the series.
Do Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon get along?
The two stars, who also serve as the executive producers, are nothing less than a family. “Oh, my God, I love this cast. And I love the crew too!,” Witherspoon told PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of season 4.
She added, “It’s just great. I mean, it’s really a family at this point. And it’s a family that Jen and I put together, so that’s really meaningful.”
Episode lineup
Season 4 will feature 10 episodes in total. The first, titled My Roman Empire, debuts on Sept 17, with the remaining nine episodes rolling out weekly on Sept 24, Oct 1, Oct 8, Oct 15, Oct 22, Oct 29, Nov 5, Nov 12 and concluding on Nov 19.
While only the premiere title of the season has been revealed so far, viewers can expect each chapter to build on the show’s trademark mix of personal drama, workplace politics, as well as sharp cultural commentary.
As The Morning Show enters its fourth season, it remains one of Apple TV+’s flagship dramas, promising another round of tense storytelling, timely themes, and performances that keep audiences hooked.
