Season 2 of #IndustryHBO premieres August 1 on @hbomax.” Take a look at the official post below:

Why did HBO renew Industry for Season 2?

According to Deadline, “Mickey and Konrad have captured an authentic, fresh angle on workplace culture from the bottom up and presented a complex look at navigating life in your early twenties – replete with thrills, failures, and victories,” said Francesca Orsi, EVP HBO Programming. “It’s exciting to see fans embrace these young graduates, and we join them in anticipation of what’s in store for season two. We also send a big thanks to our partners at Bad Wolf and BBC.”

Moreover, co-creator Konrad Kay tweeted a picture of the read-through copies of the first two Season 2 episodes with a “Management Offsite” shirt in the backdrop on June 29, 2021. Take a look at the official post below:

Industry Season 2 Plot

Co-creator Konrad Kay, in the Entertainment Weekly interview, stated, “In season 1, [we made] sure that everything was subjective to the experience of the graduates, so you only really got a sense of the wide bank as it pertained to them. We’re going to keep that in season 2 to some extent, but inevitably they’re a year ahead in their career, and the relationships are going to be deeper. We have quite a big story engine for season 2 about the bank higher-ups. Their relationships with the senior figures only become deeper in the second season, so you get more of a sense of that stuff.”

Moreover, when asked about What’s next for Harper? As she has now landed her job at Peirpoint. In the same interview, Mickey Down stated, “She makes a pretty profound decision to advance her career, maybe at the cost of the relationships that she’s made over the course of the season. What we want to explore in season 2 is her negotiating what that decision means for her, her life in London, and her relationship with the people are closest to her, like Yasmin and Eric. Also, we want to delve deeper into the reasoning [behind] why she went into this industry in the first place, and, as a broader question, why the four recruits went into this industry. The first season was really about what these characters will do to survive in this quite cutthroat new environment. The second season is going to be about what you do when you’ve got your feet under the desk, and you decide to reinvent yourself in tandem with what your institution is expecting from you.”

Additionally, in an interview with GQ, Mickey Down stated that he and Kay would love to continue the show for multiple seasons, quote, “The idea of doing a version of the show which goes on for a long time is one that we’d love to do,” he said. “But it’s not up to us. You’ll have to wait and see.”
