Renewed for the fifth season by Fox in May 2023, Lone Star has managed to successfully captivate the audience throughout its four-season run, and it is expected to do so in the future. Ever since it premiered on Fox, it has garnered exponential popularity, and with every episode airing, it has not failed to hook the viewers to the edge of their seats.
If it hadn’t been for the months-long WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, we would have at least watched the premiere of 9-1-1 Lone Star season 5 by now.
Unfortunately, that was not to be. What was to be was the indefinite delay of all the broadcast television shows when the WGA strike initially hit the production schedules in May. But now that it has officially announced its end, we expect 9-1-1 Lone Star season 5 to premiere on Fox soon.
But if you’re expecting it to hit tonight, then you are wishing for the will-o-the-wisp! Because 9-1-1: Lone Star is certainly not coming tonight; in fact, it’s not even coming in 2023.
When is 9-1-1 Lone Star season 5 premiering on Fox?
Initially, 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 was scheduled to premiere in 2023. However, owing to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, it was postponed indefinitely. At the time of writing this article, FOX has not announced the exact premiere of the fifth season. In the wake of the WGA strike, we expect Lone Star season 5 to release sometime in 2024.
The official network has not even revealed the exact episode count of 911: Lone Star season 5. However, as per the reports and based upon the previous episode counts ranging from 10 to 16, the fifth installment is expected to constitute at least 18 episodes.
Be that as it may, we contend that the fifth season might have a reduced episode count since it is a scripted show that was affected by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Other scripted shows on broadcast television were also announced to have a reduced episode count to adhere to the predetermined schedule.
Nevertheless, these are just our presumptions. Nothing is confirmed as of yet. Moreover, we must also keep in mind that the SAG-AFTRA strike is ongoing, and the actors’ union is occupied with negotiations with the concerned authorities at the moment.
