Emily in Paris Season 4 Potential Release Date: When will it premiere on Netflix?

For curious readers, we can inform you that the network has yet to reveal the anticipated release date for the forthcoming season of Emily in Paris. According to reports, the filming for the fourth season, which was reported to be conducted together, initially was a great sign for the series’ timely premiere on the streaming platform. But later, it was reported that filming for the fourth season has been delayed due to the ongoing 2023 WGA strike along with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike!

Hence, this delay will cause a major shift in the premiere of the fourth season, making one thing certain this romantic comedy-drama television series created by Darren Star won’t be returning to Netflix for the beloved fans to binge-watch all the new episodes in 2023! We can also assure the readers that any expectations from the network, cast, or crew to confirm any additional details within the next few weeks are far-fetched as everything has been put on a standstill, and the filming won’t resume once the dual strikes reach an agreement in the near future.

On a positive note, as we know by now, negotiation meetings between the parties involved are still ongoing, with new offers being made. One can only hope for the best and keep their fingers crossed that a good outcome comes out of this! But, due to these unforeseen circumstances, there is a chance the creators might aim for the show’s return sometime around 2024 instead of a late 2023 release. One of the other main reasons for this release window is that post-production also needs time to complete the editing, which can take up to several months due to the additional workload.

Is Emily in Paris Season 4 canceled?

Of course, this is just pure speculation, and the network will confirm these details in the coming weeks once the production wraps up on time. We’ve also included a list of locations as well as the times that Netflix shows are usually published worldwide, but there may occasionally be exceptions if it ever happens.

Emily in Paris Season 4 Plot: What can the fans expect to see in the new season?

If you have streamed this romantic comedy-drama television series created by Darren Star for Netflix since its inception, then you’ll know that this beloved series follows Emily, an American woman from Chicago, who moves to Paris for a job opportunity and who experiences culture clash problems because she fails to understand that American culture differs from French culture. The official Netflix synopsis of the series states, “After landing her dream job in Paris, Chicago marketing exec Emily Cooper embraces her adventurous new life while juggling work, friends, and romance.”

According to Deadline, Star stated, “I think that will be our theme for Season 4. Season 3 was about making choices. I think Season 4 is about how to balance business and toxic relationships because that’s going to be happening with a lot of our characters.” Additionally, moving on to Mindy and possibly the biggest question about Season 4. Will we see Eurovision on the show, and will you film at the real event? To which Star replied, “I don’t know what the details of filming are but I think that our plan is to go to Eurovision next season, we’re all set up for it. And I think we’ve got a deserving song. I love that song, “Mon Soleil,” I think it would definitely be a worthy entry.”

Collins suggested what the next season will answer: “Is Alfie still heartbroken?”, “Will Gabriel get his Michelin star?”, “Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision?”, “Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last?” and the question on all of our minds: “Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?”

That’s not all! Lily Collins also suggested that the much-awaited fourth season will definitely include “more fun, more fashion, and of course, more drama.” Adding more credibility to the theme for the next season, creator Darren Star told Tudum about Emily and Gabriel’s relationship, quoting, “These are two characters who are star-crossed lovers. They have a lot of passion for one another. They have things that are getting in their way, but, at the same time, I feel like every season, in a strange kind of way, their relationship deepens.”

Last but not least, Lily Collins also stated that in the new episodes, Emily would be heading to a different place! Yes, you guessed it right, a visit to another iconic European city is finally happening in the next season. “We have more fun, more fashion, and of course more drama in store,” she said. Further hinting, “While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season. Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.” Take a look at the official Emily in Paris Season 4 announcement clip as shared on Netflix’s YouTube channel below:

Emily in Paris Season 4 Potential Spoilers: What has been revealed?

At the end of the previous season, TV Guide got the chance to ask Emily in Paris creator Darren Star about what the Camille pregnancy cliffhanger means for the upcoming Season 4. He teased the following. Emily and Gabriel are not jumping into a relationship even though they are both technically single now. “I don’t know that Gabriel is in the best place to start a relationship with Emily,” Star elaborated. Further adding, “I am not sure that Emily wants a relationship with Gabriel under the circumstances.” Alfie isn’t completely out of the picture yet, making things really complicated in Season 4.

“Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships; personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other,” Star said. “Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts.” It’s not decided who Emily will settle down with. “There are more chapters before we get anywhere near that,” Star said when asked if he knows who Emily ends up with in the end. “I don’t have one strong idea at the moment of who she is going to be with.”

Emily in Paris’s creator, Darren Star also hinted at Alfie’s future in an interview with Deadline, saying: “I don’t think romantically he is in the picture [anymore]. I don’t think that [takes] Alfie out of the show. He certainly has a reason to be in Paris, and he’s working with Gabriel. I feel like all of our characters are still connected, just in a more complicated way.”
