Real Estate Oppenheim star Jason Oppenheim was back-cornered into spitting out the truth about his feelings for his ex, Chrishell Stause, during the Selling Sunset reunion.

Host Tan France, on the Selling Sunset reunion episode on Wednesday, cornered Jason Oppenheim when he asked the question, “Are you still in love with Chrishell?” Additionally, the 46-year-old was stepped to a lie detector test at the moment. Though Oppenheim obviously denied the claim, the machine said otherwise, indicating that it was clearly a lie. People then reported that Oppenheim went on to cover his face with his hand to hide his embarrassment.

Their relationship first saw the light in July 2021 when Stause posted a photo on her Instagram where Oppenheim was seen kissing her neck. A few days later, Oppenheim himself confirmed their relationship to People, sharing that they were “very happy together” and that he cared about her “deeply.”

However, in December 2021, the pair announced their split in separate online statements where they both admitted that starting a family was the reason for their parting. According to People, Oppenheim wrote in his statement, “While we have different wants regarding a family, we continue to have the utmost respect for one another.”

On the other hand, Stause wrote in her now-deleted post, “Men have the luxury of time that women don’t and that’s just the way it goes. All of that being said, navigating this public terrain is difficult and I am just trying my best…I very much hope to one day have a family and the decisions I make at this point are with that goal in mind.”

Following their public breakup, the two have moved on to happier relationships. For Stause, she announced “she was dating Australian musician G Flip during the Selling Sunset season 5 reunion episode in May 2022, and the pair later tied the knot in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony after a year together.” Oppenheim, on the other hand, was tied to a German model who appeared in Seasons 6 and 7 of Selling Sunset, named Marie-Lou Nurk. In May 2023, the pair announced that they were calling quits, with Oppenheim declaring the reason for their split as the “distance between us has proven to be too great a challenge to overcome.”

The latest Season of Selling Sunset, which is available on Netflix, showed tensions brewing between Jason’s exes Nurk and Stause, where the former accused the latter of still having feelings for Oppenheim, a sentiment Stause disagreed with before abruptly leaving the table. The two even attempted to sort it out during the reunion but fell short of an agreement. France eventually gave up, saying, “I don’t think we’re gonna resolve this, not today.”
