NCIS: Hawai’i season 2 left the fans perched on the edge of their seats owing to its cliffhanger ending that depicted a random man calling Lucy to confess his murder. With such a suspicious ending, fans were left pondering how could things catapult in the dead of the night and who could that man be.
The season finale showcased Jane and the rest of the team on the hunt for the mysterious caller. In the middle of all this ruckus, Whistler became the Gepetto to repair a broken friendship. The second part of this finale ended on, nothing less than, a note of explosive revelation for the viewers.
For those unversed, NCIS: Hawai’i is an American military procedural television series that premiered on September 20, 2021. Created by Christopher Silber, Jan Nash, and Matt Bosack, the series underscores Jane Tennant who guides the Special Agents from Naval Criminal Investigative Services in Hawai’i.
Now, straight to the point. There’s no new episode of NCIS: Hawai’i tonight. If it hadn’t been for the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, we would have already watched the first episode of NCIS: Hawai’i season 3. Alas, it was not to be! But now that the writers’ strike is officially over, everyone is looking forward to the third season’s premiere with rejuvenated hopes. But that does not mean that it is new tonight.
Here’s everything we know so far about the premiere.
When can we expect NCIS Hawai’i Season 3 to premiere?

At the time of writing this article, CBS has not revealed the exact schedule of NCIS: Hawai’i season 3. However, certainly, the third season won’t premiere by the end of this year. Owing to the WGA strike which began in May and was later joined by the SAG-AFTRA strike in July, the production schedules of a plethora of high-grossing shows, apart from the broadcast television shows were disrupted. NCIS Hawai’i season 3 also faced the brunt of the same.
Now that the writers’ union announced the end of their strike on September 27, 2023, the production houses are beginning to rework their schedules. The writers are also looking forward to working on their scripts once again.
However, this does not guarantee that NCIS: Hawai’i season 3 will premiere on CBS by next year, considering that the SAG-AFTRA strike led by the actors’ union is ongoing and currently, negotiations are underway.
If these negotiations fail and the strike continues, we may not expect the broadcast television shows to premiere even in the first quarter of 2024. Hopefully, if they end by December 2023, we can still expect a February season three premiere.
