In the world of entertainment in television format, few things captivate audiences quite like a great drama series, one of them being The Cleaning Lady, in which the fans get to witness the gripping storylines, compelling characters, and unforgettable moments, making it a staple in our lives. This has led to some of the most-asked questions about the potential release date blowing up all over the web, which makes it understandable why curiosity is at all times high about knowing if the future of the series is in safe hands or not. After all, The Cleaning Lady has been entertaining viewers since its inception!
So, these queries have become very crucial to address as soon as possible in order to avoid more rumors building among the community. With speculation mounting, it’s time to delve into the burning question, “Is The Cleaning Lady canceled?” Right now, we can assure the readers that you don’t have to worry as the popular crime drama series developed by Miranda Kwok is not going anywhere and is certainly not canceled, as it was given an early renewal for a third season earlier this year in February 2023!
It’s good to know that the network is continuing the tale of Thony De La Rosa, a Cambodian-Filipino former surgeon, for another season, as there is no chance that a known television network like FOX will lean towards scrapping a popular show that has become very close to prime-time television viewers around the world. The series has been able to capture interest for a while, and there is no doubt that it is not going to wane anytime soon. So, the fans can breathe a sigh of relief and buckle up by speculating what new secrets the next season has to offer the fans around the globe!
Here is everything we know so far about The Cleaning Lady Season 3.
The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Release Date Updates: Will it premiere in 2023 or not?
Ever since the beloved series was renewed for a third season for the 2023–24 broadcast season, no updates about the release date have been confirmed by the FOX network.
As a result, there is no chance that the beloved crime drama television series, which was developed by Miranda Kwok and based on the 2017 Argentinian television series La chica que limpia, will be returning with a new season in 2023! But if you’re wondering when the potential release window will be set, then we can assure the readers that, right now, everything relating to this subject is currently filled with uncertainty.
One of the main reasons for the delay in disclosing these details is the emergence of the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike along with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which has put a lot of writers’ room into a temporary halt unless a resolution regarding fair compensation for all the writers and actors efforts is made in their favor, with negotiations still ongoing. This situation is predicted to last until October 2023, due to which we are certain that the third season’s production will be delayed further!
Hence, it’s safe to say that the series might not even premiere this year at all because there is no chance that the network will be able to release the third season for FOX’s 2023–24 fall primetime schedule or anywhere close to the end of this year because even if the filming commences, then it will take a lot of time to complete the entire shoot with respect to post-production, due to which the series seems more likely to premiere sometime around early to mid-2024, at the time slot of 9 p.m. ET.
In order to fill the empty slots in the fall schedule, we speculated that FOX would also follow in the footsteps of its competitor network and decided to incorporate unscripted shows along with reruns of the prior seasons in case the fans haven’t streamed them before. In conclusion, until there is any official confirmation, we suggest the viewers be patient and follow all the social media platforms to be updated with the latest updates. Additionally, the official Twitter handle also confirmed the renewal, quoting, “Oh, nothing major, just that…#THECLEANINGLADY IS RETURNING FOR SEASON 3.”

What to expect from The Cleaning Lady Season 3?
Nothing much has been confirmed, but we are certain that the series, which is based on the original Argentine series, will continue the theme further. The Cleaning Lady stars Élodie Yung as Thony, a doctor who comes to the U.S. for medical treatment to save her ailing son. But when the system fails, she becomes a cleaning lady for the mob and starts playing the game by her own rules. The series is expected to continue and explore the plot further from the final episode of the second season, “At Long Last,” which aired on December 12, 2022, and was watched by 2.09 million US viewers.
The episode is directed by Milan Cheylov and written by Miranda Kwok. If you recall, in the second season’s finale (check out the promo below), the viewers saw that Thony (Yung) was confronted by FBI Agent Garrett Miller (Oliver Hudson) about Arman’s (Adan Canto) part in Maya’s (Chelsea Frei) death, while Nadia (Eva De Dominici) tries to stay on Robert Kamdar’s (Naveen Andrews) good side. Despite being warned to stay clear of Kamdar, Thony decides to take matters into her own hands to protect Fiona (Martha Millan) and ensure the safety of her family.

The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Potential Spoilers: What has been confirmed?
Keeping the spoilers aside, we are certain that with its unique blend of heartwarming moments and gripping suspense, this highly anticipated season promises to take viewers on an exhilarating rollercoaster ride. There is no doubt that we can expect even more jaw-dropping twists and turns that will leave us begging for more as Rosa faces new challenges as her world certainly becomes increasingly dangerous. Due to this, Rosa’s determination to protect those she loves will be put to the ultimate test, pushing her to her limits!
“After two heart-pounding seasons, we’re thrilled with how audiences have latched on to this incredible story,” said Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming at Fox Entertainment. Further adding, “The cast, led by the incomparable Élodie Yung, along with our brilliant creative team and our partners at Warner Bros. Television has expertly crafted a highly compelling, emotionally-driven show that gives a perspective you don’t often see on television.”
Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, said, “The Cleaning Lady is a gripping and masterful tale of a mother who will do anything for her child. I am thrilled that we get to continue to explore Thony’s world in the third season. A big thank you to our partners at Fox for providing a platform for this show to thrive, to Miranda Kwok for developing such a powerful story, and to Melissa Carter for her leadership during the first two seasons. We are excited about Jeannine Renshaw joining the creative team, and I can’t wait for audiences to see what Miranda and Jeannine have in store for season three.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunners Miranda Kwok and Melissa Carter explained the big moment, which saw Garrett being fatally wounded in a shootout, saying, “We love Oliver Hudson so much and we loved his character, but it started to feel like this season we wanted to show that crime does have consequences.”
The showrunners also discussed the status of Thony and Armand’s relationship leading into the third season, sharing: “They have a relationship that is so unique and it’s never going to be one thing or easy. There’s this chemistry that brings them together and yet all these circumstances are still going to pull them apart. The relationship is evolving and there are different directions it can go depending on how difficult it will be to get Fiona back. Or what new criminal ventures they’re going to go into. There is still this interesting love triangle with Nadia. Is she going to stick around to put up with it or will she become more of a nemesis? Those are all options to explore.”

The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Expected Cast: Who will and will not reprise their roles?
The main cast members who are speculated to reprise their roles in the new season are as follows: Élodie Yung as Thony De La Rosa, Adan Canto as Arman Morales, Martha Millan as Fiona De La Rosa, Sebastien and Valentino LaSalle as Luca De La Rosa, Sean Lew as Chris, Faith Bryant as Jaz, and Eva De Dominici as Nadia Morales. On the other hand, we can assume Garrett’s death is the final goodbye as we shouldn’t expect actor Oliver Hudson as Garrett Miller to return in Season 3.
Additionally, there is another cast member from the second season who we shouldn’t expect to return. It’s none other than Naveen Andrews as Robert Kamdar, who won’t be reprising his role in the third season either, as his character was also killed off in the season 2 finale. As for Robert’s death, Carter told Deadline, “We always knew that Naveen Andrews’ character was going to be someone that was just going to be [in the series] one season, and we wanted it to be a thrill ride.”
On the other hand, the recurring cast from the prior seasons who are expected to reprise their roles includes the following: Navid Negahban as Hayak Barsamian, Ivan Shaw as Marco De La Rosa, Jay Mohr as Councilman Eric Knight, Liza Weil as Katherine Russo, Shiva Negar as Isabel Barsamian, Chelsea Frei as Maya Campbell, K.C. Collins as Tyler Jefferson, and Ryan Sands as JD Harris. Of course, some new cast members may be introduced, which will be disclosed later.
Additionally, Jeannine Renshaw has also joined the show as an executive producer and will serve as showrunner with Miranda Kwok. The series was developed by executive producer Kwok and executive-produced by showrunner Melissa Carter and executive producers Shay Mitchell, David Dean Portelli, Rose Marie Vega, and Paola Suarez. It was produced in partnership between Fox Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.

Although the exact episode count for The Cleaning Lady Season 3 has yet to be announced. We expect the season to have at least 10 to 12 episodes with a runtime of 43 to 45 minutes, similar to the previous two seasons. We would also like to highlight that the number of episodes may vary depending on the theme that the show wishes to convey to the audience. We would also like to highlight that the filming has been put on hold because of the ongoing dual strikes, and the chances of the network releasing details about the new episodes are minimal in order to avoid spoilers.

The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Official Trailer: Has it been released?
As stated above, the network hasn’t released any new promos for the third season as filming hasn’t yet commenced, leaving a lot of time for the official marketing to begin, which usually begins a month or two before the premiere. We’ll just have to wait and see what the next few months have in store for us in relation to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike and the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which are still being negotiated and have caused everything concerning the filming status to be neither here nor there! Due to this, we are certain that no new promos will be released anytime soon.
In the meantime, check out the official trailer for The Cleaning Lady Season 2, which showcases that The Cleaning Lady continues to examine the plight of Thony De La Rosa as she navigates the criminal underworld to protect her family. Galvanized by the many roadblocks Thony faced while searching for a treatment to save her son. She will utilize her expertise as a doctor to find ways to help her underserved community. However, as Thony continues to entwine her business undertakings with Arman, she once again crosses the moral line into the dark underbelly of Las Vegas.
