The Conners Season 6: When is the new season expected to return on ABC?

As of writing this, the network hasn’t renewed a sixth season but it is speculated to be approved in a few weeks, and arrive sometime in the fall of 2023, with the most likely release window being around September 2023, just like the last two seasons. It is assumed to keep premiering new episodes every Wednesday at 8/7c on ABC and later available to stream on Hulu.

For the time being, we suggest that the fans should patiently wait until the announcement is officially revealed by the network. Moreover, the overall plot of the sixth season has also been kept under wraps but it is expected to pick up from the fifth season’s finale cliffhanger in which the viewers got to see that, “As Mark’s graduation approaches, he considers his relationship with his father; Louise plans a big graduation ceremony at the Lunch Box.”

On the other hand, executive producer Bruce Helford hinted that the ABC sitcom could be heading into its much anticipated last season to TVLine, quote:

“Sara Gilbert expressed to the network that we don’t want to go out without knowing that we are going out with a series finale so we can build to the right ending — and at this point in time, we feel that [next season] is possibly going to be the last season of The Conners.” Helford continued, “I would not [say that] definitively because the numbers were so good this season, and we’ve all had a really great time… but it’s definitely a possibility.”

Right now, it’s safe to assume that all the main cast members who are expected to return in the next season are as follows: John Goodman as Dan Conner, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner, Lecy Goranson as Becky Conner, Emma Kenney as Harris Healy, Ames McNamara as Mark Healy II, Jayden Rey as Mary Conner, and Jay R. Ferguson as Ben Olinsky.

The recurring cast members include Katey Sagal as Louise Goldufski, Charlotte Sanchez as Beverly Conner, and Nat Faxon as Neville Goldufski. There can be some additions to the cast if the network wants to expand the plot with previously seen and new characters. “The Conners” is executive produced by Tom Werner, along with Sara Gilbert, Bruce Helford, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen, and Tony Hernandez. The series is from Werner Entertainment.

Additionally, it has been reported that the final season will comparatively be a short season, in the exclusive interview with TVLine, Helford added, “There may only be 13 episodes. Obviously, we always want to do 20 or 22 [episodes], but at this point in time, we’re talking about if we can do 13 — God willing — and if we can do more, we’ll do more.” Anything is possible going forward, and we hope that the series wraps up the plot in a way that isn’t hurried just cause it will be the final season.
