IZ*ONE fans have a reason to celebrate as the group has finally hit 200 million views on YouTube for the first time! Their music video La Vie En Rose has surpassed this milestone on August 8 at around 10.31 pm KST. For the unversed, this is IZ*ONE’s first music video to achieve the feat.
IZ*ONE originally released the official MV for La Vie En Rose on October 29, 2018, at 6 p.m. KST. That means it took the group over six years, nine months, and 10 days to reach this milestone.

A flashback to La Vie En Rose
Featuring nine Korean and three Japanese members, all three of whom are part of Japan’s AKB48 girl-group structure, IZ*ONE went viral with their first song La Vie En Rose. It is a vibrant, groovy electro-pop track.
Captivating from the get-go, the song completely blends a wide range of elements, mostly ambient synths, tinny snare, stomping beats, and echoing strings. The best part is when the melody of the song soars with the members’ vocals. It literally explodes into a pre-chorus build, only to have a sudden drop to the more restrained titular hook. Nobody thought that IZ*ONE would debut with such an excellent, introductory track that is all at once powerful and delicate.
I*ZONE’s older records
For the unversed, IZ*ONE is the third act to come out of South Korean cable broadcaster Mnet’s Produce series. It’s the same event through which most South Korean viewers vote for 12 competitors to form a temporary pop act. The Korean-Japanese group follows I.O.I, which was formed on the first season of Produce 101 in 2016 and was together for a year.
Another popular group, Wanna One, was formed in the same show’s second season a year ago, and they were together for just under a year and a half.
The new girl group is the first to have members from both South Korea and Japan on the show. Produce 48 included trainees from Korean entertainment companies and members of Japan’s AKB48. The three Japanese members, Miyawaki Sakura, Yabuki Nako, and Honda Hitomi, have all been active in the J-pop scene for years.
As for IZ*ONE, the group hasn’t announced any new plans yet. With the recent milestone achieved by La Vie En Rose, they could announce something soon.
