Jason Mraz reflects on his performance onstage with Taylor Swift.
In an exclusive interview with Page Six, Mraz recalls when he and Taylor Swift shared the stage in 2011. Following the Tuesday episode of Dancing with the Stars, which was ‘Swift-themed,’ Mraz spoke to the news outlet about the time he performed with Swift and was a surprise guest at her “Speak Now” tour stop in Los Angeles.
The two belted A duet song, which was Mraz’s most popular song, ‘I’m Yours’ at the Crypto.com Arena, previously known as the Staples Center. In relation to this moment, he tells the news outlet, “It was so wonderful! She’s such a generous performer, sharing the stage with other artists and acknowledging her dancers and her crew,” adding, “It was nice to have experienced that myself and get to sing on a stage with her. She’s a real person and that’s what I love about her success.”
He continued, “She didn’t come out of a machine, she wasn’t fabricated. She started playing her songs at The Bluebird in Nashville and the whole globe recognizes that.” In addition to these kind words, he even explained to Page Six how Swift’s career motivated him and how it instigated artistic ethics in him.
He explained, “To be yourself, and the work ethic as well,” adding, “If you love what you do, you share it, and that’s what she’s doing well.”
During the ‘Taylor Swift Night’ episode on Dancing with the Stars, the dazzling duo of Mraz and his pro partner Daniella Karagach stepped into an Argentina tango to the beats of “Don’t Blame Me,” landing them in Season 32’s semi-finals.

In his interview with Page Six, Mraz suddenly realizes that he is the only male celebrity standing in competition against Ariana Madix, Charity Lawson, Alyson Hannigan, and Xochitl Gomez. To this ecstatic realization, partner Karagach said, “I don’t think it’s sunk in yet, it’s just crazy. We’ve been working so hard and we’ve both been so sick,” adding, “So just to get out here and perform to the best that we could was already such a huge accomplishment for us.”
The mentioned performance aced a perfect score of 40/40 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and guest Mandy Moore, who continued to speak about it on Page Six. She opined, “I really thought Jason came out just swinging tonight. I’ve been watching since the first episode with this cast and he started out bright,” adding, “Then he kind of faded and he really came back tonight. So I was like, ‘Yes!'”
Moore, who is the choreographer for Swift’s infamous Eras Tour, gave Page Six an insight into the creative energy and exertion behind creating a magnanimous tour, including which routines are Swift-approved. She explains, “Ooh, I mean, she has told me she really loves ‘Vigilante [S–t],’ like, she really loves that one!” adding, “And I think she really enjoys doing ‘Willow,’ the kind of witchy one. She really likes that one too.”
