BTS failing to surprise its ARMY is a rare event. Whether it’s V who drops unexpected selfies or Jin who shocks his fans with unexpected confessions, the septet always has something in store for the die-hard fans.
But this time it is American rapper and producer J. Cole who has shocked ARMY with a sweet surprise. The rapper has given an unexpected shoutout to BTS in his new song.
American rapper Tee Grizzly recently dropped a new song, Blow for Blow, featuring J. Cole. In the song, J. Cole rapped, “I stay hot, doin’ numbers like K-Pop BTS in the flesh while they flop.” This took ARMY by surprise as the last thing they imagined was J. Cole giving a shoutout to BTS.

While the BTS namedrop in the song is in itself a huge achievement for ARMY, what is even more interesting is J-Hope’s reaction to the shoutout. Hobi posted a clip from the song on his Instagram stories and captioned it ‘Cole hyung’ referring to the rapper as his older brother.
This sweet gesture by J-Hope has melted ARMY’s hearts, who were eagerly waiting for a reaction from Hobi. J-Hope has been a longtime fan of J. Cole and looks up to him as his idol.
Ahead of military enlistment, J-Hope released his single ‘on the street’ featuring J. Cole, which made the fans go crazy with many calling the song ‘absolute perfection,’ The song currently boasts over 59 million views on YouTube.
J-Hope is currently serving in the military and is expected to be discharged on October 17, 2024. The other BTS members are expected to conclude their services in 2025, except for Jin, who was discharged earlier in June this year.
BTS leader RM, on the other hand, is busy showing the BTS of his life. His documentary, RM: Right People, Wrong Place, is set to premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival on October 7 at 8 pm KST. The documentary explores the journey behind RM’s second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person.
Whereas Jin is set to release his highly-anticipated solo album by the end of 2024. Jin has also been announced as the newest global brand ambassador of luxury beauty brand Laneige.
