A friend in need is a true friend indeed!
Jennifer Garner, who was recently seen in the Apple TV+ limited series The Last Thing He Told Me (2023), has opened up about a particularly challenging period in her life. The actress candidly talked during Hello Sunshine’s Shine Away Event in Los Angeles, where Garner went a step ahead and credited Reese Witherspoon for being her rock during a “very public, very hard moment.” She stated, “I think back to being pregnant,” Garner said.
“This one [Witherspoon] was sitting next to me. I think back to going through a very public, very hard moment in my life. She was right there and the way I needed to get through it was dance cardio.”
The fans were left in awe when Garner showed her respect and love for her dear friend by highlighting the invaluable role Witherspoon played by supporting her through hard times. Given that they both work in Hollywood, where real friendships are sometimes eclipsed by fame and fortune, it’s refreshing to see that the two amazing actresses displayed their strong bond during the panel while also being accompanied by Mindy Kaling.
In addition to this, Garner, 51, did not hesitate to discuss how dancing served as both a coping technique and a means of connecting for her and Witherspoon, 47, even if she refrained from going into specifics about the trying time in question, quote, “I danced cardio-d so hard, we broke her foot,” Garner recalled. “But she kept going! It was like, okay, we worked out at seven on vacation, we’re going to work out again at two. She was like, ‘I’m going to be there. I’m going to be there.'”

The “13 Going on 30” star also thanked the “Legally Blonde” star for supporting her as a mother. Garner has three kids: daughters Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 13, and son Samuel, 11, whom she co-parents with her now-ex-husband Ben Affleck. “She’ll also look at you and say, ‘OK, you need to be finding a preschool. This kid is 2 and a half, and they need to start next month. You actually have to get on this,'” she said of Witherspoon, who is a mom to four kids: Ava, 24, Deacon, 19, and Tennessee, 11.
The event was hosted by Hello Sunshine, the American media company founded by actress Reese Witherspoon and Strand Equity Founder and Managing Partner Seth Rodsky in 2016, to shine a light on where women are now and help them chart a new path forward. On the other hand, during the event, its co-owner AT&T, through its communications division, which announced the launch of a Hello Sunshine-branded cable and satellite television channel, Hello Sunshine Channel, also played a big part in making the event proceed smoothly.
At last, Garner also took time to shout out Witherspoon to make the event happen and for providing a safe space for her and other actresses to speak their minds about the industry without fear of being silenced. Moreover, the official Instagram of Hello Sunshine also shared a few pictures and behind the scene clips from the panel, “We hope you enjoyed the livestream of ‘Exploring the Power of Connection, with @ATT’, featuring @ReeseWitherspoon, Jennifer Garner, and Mindy Kaling, moderated by Kellyn Kenny. What a way to kick off our first ever #ShineAway! #ConnectingChangesEverything #ATTPartner”
