Like the stars above, Jennifer Lopez is shining and moving ahead with her series of projects that have kept her occupied in the last year.
It’s been a year since the 56-year-old star filed for divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck. Since then, the reports suggest that she has been quite busy with movie premieres and trotting the globe for her “Up All Night Tour.”
As per PEOPLE’s source, “She’s been having the time of her life this summer.”
Stating that the tour has been “a great focus for her”, the source added, “She loved connecting with fans all over the world.” It seems that the tour was a significant contributing factor in helping her move on.

A mother to 17-year-old twins Max and Emme, Lopez is not stopping to take a pause. She will be up and about promoting her upcoming musical movie, Kiss of the Spider Woman.
“This is the movie she filmed last year in New York when she and Ben were going through a difficult time. She’s come a long way since. She’s very happy and just grateful for her life”, the source reported to the outlet.
Interestingly, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon produced Kiss of the Spider Woman, as stated by Cosmopolitan. The outlet also explored the possibility of J.Lo crossing paths with Affleck at press tours and even red carpets, if the movie hits the charts.
But that’s apparently not the first time that Lopez and Affleck have found themselves face-to-face after their divorce. According to PEOPLE, in just weeks following Lopez’s divorce filing, the On the Floor singer appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote a film in which she starred, Unstoppable, that was produced by Affleck.
Talking about the film, Lopez told PEOPLE how the film incorporated “complicated dynamics about life” that she understood “really well.”
Their relationship joins the list of only a few couples who maintain an amiable attitude towards their exes. In J.Lo and Affleck’s case, it is probably because of their kids, who are friends. Talking to PEOPLE, a source said, “The kids love spending time together. Ben and Jennifer always do everything for the kids to be happy. The kids don’t drive, so Ben and Jennifer will continue to facilitate meetups. They are not getting back together. Ben was with his kids for Christmas, and Jennifer was with hers. They all had a great holiday break.”

According to the outlet, Lopez and Affleck officially finalized their divorce in early January, the same month in which the former attended Variety’s Creative Impact Awards, where she was accoladed with the Legend and Groundbreakers award for her overall career trajectory and specifically her work in Unstoppable. Not just that, but she also attended the world premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman at the Sundance Film Festival.
Kiss of the Spider Woman is a film adaptation of the 1993 Broadway classic, which will be on theatre screens from October 10, 2025. Sharing screen with Diego Luna and Tonatiuh, this movie marks Lopez’s first-ever movie musical, for which she’d been “waiting for this moment my whole life”, as she said during a Q&A at Sundance.
The movie musical explores the lives of two prisoners, Luna, a Marxist rebel, and Tonatiuh, a gay window dresser, living in an oppressive South American prison. The duo deals with their repressive reality by conjuring a fictional star, Ingrind Luna (reprised by Jennifer Lopez), who is featured in a Hollywood musical.
The official synopsis of the movie reads:
“Valentín (Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency. The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Lopez).”
Roadside Attractions released a new trailer on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Based on the trailer and the synopsis, the movie seems promising, with its riveting narrative and critically acclaimed cast.
But that’s not the end of the litany of projects that J.Lo is a part of. The star will also be hitting Netflix screens in a rom-com, titled Office Romance, sharing screens with Brett Goldstein.
Excited to be a part of this comedy, Lopez took to Instagram in March and posted photos from production, captioning it with, “This is gonna be a fun one.”
