Jennifer Lopez expressed her appreciation for the “lovely” and “moving” interaction she shared with Brie Larson when they met for the first time at the Golden Globes. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, the ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker reflected, “It brings tears to my eyes now because it’s very, it’s very moving because you do, you give your heart and soul to this when you’re an artist.”

The two stars met at the awards ceremony on Sunday when a heartwarming and viral moment unfolded with Larson being visibly emotional upon spotting Lopez on the red carpet. Attempting to hold back tears, the ‘Captain Marvel’ actress took the opportunity to express her deep admiration for the ‘Papi’ singer, sharing, “I saw Selena and it made me want to be an actor. You’ve always meant so much to me. … It’s been a dream of mine [to meet you] so thank you so much! Your work ethic is so important, thank you.”

Lopez opens up about the viral Golden Globes moment
In her interview, Lopez candidly shared that she fully empathized with the emotions experienced by ‘The Marvel’ star at that moment. She acknowledged that, like Larson, she too had celebrities she admired and looked up to when she was younger.
“I remember being a little girl and watching West Side Story and seeing Rita Moreno and knowing what that meant for me,” said the ‘Gigli’ actress, as per US Weekly. “When I was looking at Brie and I saw her and I was staring in her eyes because she was so locked in with me and just [was] like, ‘I have wanted to tell you this for so long.’ … I saw myself, and I saw the little girl, and to think that I did that for somebody was really, really overwhelming.”
She continued, “I could have really taken a moment there, and it was very lovely to have an experience like that. I don’t think I ever imagined that I would have an experience like that with somebody who is so talented and who I watch their movies and who, is kind of in a way, my contemporary even. … It was a very kind thing that she did, and it meant a lot to me, probably even more than it did to her.”

Lopez’s interaction with Larson wasn’t the viral moment she had at this year’s Golden Globes. During a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, the ‘The Back-Up Plan’ actress addressed the paparazzi photos of her husband, Ben Affleck, who often looks tired and unimpressed during his outings.
“Ben is doing alright. You don’t need to worry about Ben, let me just tell you,” Lopez assured the outlet. “He is good. He is happy. He is here — he is nominated. I’m chilling; I don’t understand what people are so pressed for.” She went on to add, “They don’t pick up on my face.”
