JoJo Siwa has offered a detailed look at how she is recovering after a sudden medical emergency left her hospitalized over the weekend.
The update arrived only days after the 22-year-old performer revealed that a ruptured ovarian cyst was the cause of the intense abdominal pain that required urgent medical care.
Her latest statement appeared on Instagram on Tuesday, December 2, where Siwa spoke directly to her 11 million followers about the aftermath of the ordeal.
In that post, she mentioned having what she called an eventful few days and expressed appreciation for the public’s support. Before sharing how she currently feels, Siwa wrote, “I’m happy to say I’m doing a bit better, I’m not in the clear yet, but feeling better and doing well.”
She also acknowledged a concerning moment during her recovery. Introducing that detail, she explained that the night after her hospital visit came with a spike in temperature.
She wrote, “I had a bit of a scare with a fever the night after I went to the hospital, but slept and woke up fever free and have been since.”
The performer added that she is focusing on low-key routines to stabilize her condition.

As she described what is helping her regain strength, Siwa wrote, “I’m resting when I can and drinking lots of electrolytes, adding that it’s been a beautiful circle of love and support that has helped me heal.”
Her update came with a carousel of images that documented the intense few days she experienced.
Among them was a photo of Siwa lying in a hospital bed with a thumbs-up. Another captured the moment she was loaded into an ambulance while wearing the same outfit she would later perform in.
A separate photo also showed a thermometer resting on her leg that displayed a temperature of 100 degrees.
Additional images featured Siwa back on stage at the Mall of America on Friday, November 28. That performance took place only hours after her medical emergency.
The Instagram update followed a TikTok video that Siwa posted on Saturday. In that clip, she broke down what led to the sudden escalation in her symptoms.
Introducing the pattern she had noticed earlier in the week, Siwa stated, “So long story short, every time that I’ve been dancing for the last couple of days or even just like walking like anything, my stomach would just really, really hurt.”
She also described the moment when the discomfort reached a peak. Reflecting on Friday morning, she shared, “It got really bad on Friday morning and I thought sleeping it off might help, but it didn’t.”

At that point, emergency services were contacted. Siwa was taken to the hospital by ambulance and then administered pain medication followed by an ultrasound.
The imaging results provided clarity. After discussing what the doctors discovered, Siwa said, “One of my ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into my stomach.”
She then relayed what likely caused the extreme discomfort, explaining, “So that’s what was causing the excruciating pain, anytime that the blood in your stomach moves, that is the bleeding in the stomach.”
She continued by describing how the condition typically resolves on its own, adding, “It is like brutal pain, and long story short, it should revolve itself. It should stop on its own.”
Medical guidance aligns with her explanation. The Mayo Clinic defines ovarian cysts as “sacs, usually filled with fluid, in an ovary or on its surface.”
Siwa shared one final detail in her weekend update. In that message, she noted that she will need to undergo another medical evaluation in one week and plans to continue working during that period.
