Julianne Hough is keeping her family close amidst hard times.
In a reel of Instagram carousel, the Dancing with the Stars ex-judge shared herself hugging family members as a Christmas post, captioned, “Holding my family extra tight this holiday season ❤️.”
In her second picture of the thread shared, she is seen hugging her brother, Derek Hough, who recently announced that his wife Hayley Erbert has undergone a series of emergency surgeries, including an emergency craniectomy and a skull implant.
Another picture showed her tightly hugging her sister-in-law Erbert who’s surgery is due. The two matched in cream-colored cozy pajamas as they held each other close.
Along with these loving pictures, Julianne shared snapshots of her sisters, Marabeth and Sharee, as well as a selfie with Derek and their mother, Marriann.
Before this heart-warming Christmas holiday family post, Derek shared that his wife Erbert had a successful cranioplasty surgery. Erbert’s surgery — where a “large portion of her skull” was replaced — followed her emergency craniectomy from earlier this month.
On the day of the successful surgery, the professional dancer dedicated an Instagram post to his wife who just came out of surgery. He wrote, “My sincere appreciation goes to the exceptional medical team. Their expertise and steady hands were pivotal in this journey, ensuring a smooth and successful surgery. Especially Dr. Mai who not only performed the surgery but was also the one who saved her life 2 weeks ago,” adding, “This surgery marks a significant milestone in my wife’s recovery journey, and your support has played a crucial role in getting us here. We are filled with hope and optimism for the future, knowing she is on the path to a full recovery, surrounded by such a loving community.”
People reports that Erbert began experiencing symptoms before her diagnosis while the couple was on their Symphony of Dance tour stop in Washington D.C., on Dec. 6.
Julianne shared the news of her sister-in-law’s surgery before the initial one took place on Instagram. She wrote, “Please pray and send all your love, healing and light to Hayley and Derek 🙏,” adding, “Thank you from the depths of our families hearts!❤️.”
