Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are growing closer, with multiple media sources confirming that they are developing a deep romantic connection.
According to a Canadian insider familiar with political circles, the pop superstar and the ex-politician are “quite taken with each other,” citing both intellectual chemistry and physical attraction. “In addition to the attraction, they are both smart and love to talk about serious issues,” the source told PEOPLE .
Their relationship appears to have developed gradually since the summer of 2025. Perry, 40, is currently on her Lifetimes World Tour through the end of the year, while Trudeau, 53, remains in Canada following his departure from public office. Despite the distance and their respective responsibilities with Perry’s demanding tour schedule and Trudeau’s family obligations, the pair have maintained consistent communication.
“They have stayed in touch since the middle of summer but haven’t been able to spend that much time together, due mainly to her schedule,” the source shared. “Justin is also busy and both have family obligations. They have interests in common. Both are taking dating as it comes. But they are definitely into each other and have been.”
