The charismatic Kelce Brothers, Jason and Travis Kelce, have generated much buzz as two of the best players in the NFL, and now they are back to grace the screens by highlighting the importance of resilience and the impact it can have on one’s journey to success!
There are many documentary films that have become staples on many streaming platforms, as every month, there is a new documentary making its debut and receiving an amazing reception from critics and viewers around the world. This time around, there is no expectation as Amazon and Skydance have unveiled Kelce, a new documentary about The Kelce brothers, which scored a touchdown for Prime Video and focused on Philadelphia Eagles team captain and All-Pro center Jason Kelce, which will premiere on September 12, 2023, just ahead of the return of Thursday Night Football, which kicks off with the Minnesota Vikings visiting Kelce’s Eagles on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
As soon as the documentary was made available to stream, it started to make a spectacular mark on the platform, which is quite a groundbreaking achievement, as “Kelce” has emerged as Prime Video’s most-watched documentary film ever in the United States, as it has been able to beat out Val for the top spot ever since it premiered. Furthermore, after its premiere, Kelce had the biggest opening three days ever for a documentary film in the United States. It launched at No. 1 and has remained in the top five films on Prime Video for the first three weeks. Amazon did not provide audience figures for the film, but it will almost certainly be on the Nielsen streaming rankings in the coming weeks.
“We’re extremely proud of Kelce and thrilled to share in its record-setting success with our partners at NFL Films, Skydance Sports, 9.14 Pictures, and Vera Y Productions,” said Matt Newman, head of Prime Video Original sports content. Further adding, “Kelce is the perfect example of the type of documentary we want to make at Amazon. It’s as much a story of family, parenting, and brotherhood as it is about football. We’re energized by the opportunity to take sports fans behind the scenes and into the lives of their favorite athletes – next up for us, it’s Barry Sanders in Bye Bye Barry this November, and Deion Sanders in Season 2 of Coach Prime this December.”
Moreover, in a recent interview Director Don Argott said, “It’s a pretty incredible, magical, special film.”
There are moments that people don’t ever get to see from people at the top of their craft,” said executive producer and former Eagle Connor Barwin. “I think it’s just to show that athletes are just humans, and they’re not like superheroes, and they have issues that happen all the time at home like everybody else does,” Jason’s mom, Donna, said. As Donna was speaking to us, Jason quipped: “I’m not a superhero?” “He’s a character, he’s funny, he gets emotional as far as wearing his emotions on his sleeve. You can tell he cares about his teammates, his family, his community, and yeah, I’m just excited for the world to see what I’ve dealt with for the past 11 years,” Johnson said.
“He’s just a phenomenal leader, phenomenal teammate, on top of being a great football player,” Sirianni said. “There are so many people that go into your life…that you lean on, and you draw inspiration from, and you gain strength from, and you see all of that throughout the whole documentary, whether it’s my teammates, my family, my wife, my girls,” he said. At last, it’s fair to say that this captivating and thought-provoking documentary takes viewers on an intimate journey into the life of renowned NFL player Travis Kelce, shedding light on his remarkable career, personal struggles, and unwavering determination, which the fans will continue to watch for a long time.

Kelce: What is the documentary about?
Kelce is an intimate and emotional feature-length documentary that chronicles Philadelphia Eagles team captain and All-Pro center Jason Kelce’s 2022-23 season. After deciding to return for his 12th NFL season, Kelce embarked on a remarkable journey, highlighted by the arrival of his third daughter; the debut of his chart-topping podcast New Heights, which he co-hosts with brother, Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis; and a history-making Super Bowl appearance that placed the entire Kelce family at the center of the sports world. But as the season came to a close, Kelce was still left grappling with what life looks like after he moves on from the game he loves and if this hungry dog has one more run in him.
“Jason Kelce has established himself as one of the most compelling and influential characters in sports, both on and off the field,” said Matt Newman, head of Prime Video Original sports content. “We’re privileged to partner with Skydance Sports, 9.14 Pictures, Vera Y Productions, and NFL Films on this project, which welcomes fans into the psyche of one of the greatest centers in the history of the league for what is arguably the wildest and most eventful season of his illustrious career.”
