Reality TV star Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have officially changed the name of their baby boy. Initially listed as “Baby Kardashian” on his birth certificate because they had not yet decided on a name. Moreover, the documents obtained by PEOPLE confirm that the couple has legally changed his name.

A Los Angeles county judge granted the name change for their now 13-month-old son, Tatum Thompson. For the unversed, California law allows new parents to choose whether their child will have the father’s last name, the mother’s last name, or a combination of both.

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson welcomed their son in July 2022. The couple also shares a daughter named True, who is 5 years old. Khloé had revealed last year that she welcomed her son via a surrogate. Tatum’s name was disclosed during the third season of “The Kardashians” in May. She later also opened up about her challenges in bonding with her son following the surrogacy.

Khloé’s mother, Kris Jenner, showed her support for her daughter during this emotional journey. Kris advised Khloé to be more compassionate towards herself and reassured her that she is a loving and caring mother. In a confessional, Khloé shared her feelings, expressing that while she tends to be critical of herself, being a mom is one of the most magical experiences she has ever had.
