A groundbreaking role for Shipka was when she embodied Sabrina in  Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, released in 2018, which was not a foundational concept. It was based on the late ‘90s Sabrina the Teenage Witch with Melissa Joan Hart as the magical lead. However, the remake was more eerie than the original. People reports that ‘on her character’s 16th birthday, the half-witch half-mortal was forced to “choose between the path of light and the path of night,” per Netflix’s YouTube account, which added it was an original series from the makers of Riverdale.’

People obtained a statement in October 2021 from executive producer and creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, saying, “We’ve been talking about having Sabrina visit Riverdale since Season one, so it’s thrilling that this is finally happening, as part of our Rivervale special event,” adding, “It’s also perfect that she shows up to help Cheryl Blossom during her hour of greatest need.” To this, he also added, “Everyone on set lost their minds,” concluding with, “I think fans will, too.”

For her recent project, ‘Totally Killer’ People report that it is about her character traveling back to the ‘80s as Jamie Hughes for the time-hopping horror-comedy Totally Killer. In the film, she tries to stop the “Sweet Sixteen Killer,” who murdered three of her mom’s friends 35 years earlier.’ You can catch the Totally Killer on Prime Video right now, provided you have a subscription.
