Kim Kardashian is anything but a softie when it comes to parenting her four kids.

The billionaire mogul has recently adopted a stricter form of parenting where she stands her ground on decisions, even if it drives her kids to throw tantrums and cry in public.

While appearing on the iHeartRadio What in the Winkler? podcast, Kim revealed to her friend and co-host Zoe Winkler that “It takes a lot of work” to be a parent and navigate difficult situations with them. Kim shares daughters North, 11, and Chicago, 6, and sons Saint, 8, and Psalm, 5, with her ex-husband Kanye West.

The reality TV star then cited an example from the other day where one of her kids (she did not mention who) got bothered when Kim did not give them their phone and threw a fit. But the SKIMS founder stood her ground and did not allow her kid to get her phone, even though “it was tears the entire way to school.”

The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ alum further said that she would usually give them their phone back just to get them to stop crying, but she did not budge this time.

“If I don’t put my foot down and I don’t do this now and fight through the tears—as uncomfortable as that is—they’re always going to get their way, the lesson won’t be learned,'” she said.

Sure enough, her kids did not throw a tantrum the next day, even though their mom did not give them their phone. Kim said, “And then today, same thing. Did not cry. Respected the fact there was no phone.”

However, Kim was not always a strict parent like now and had to take this road because she was running out of options to manage their tantrums.

In a June episode of The Kardashians Season 5, the SKKN founder shared with her elder sister Kourtney, who just gave birth to her fourth child, Rocky, what it is like to be a mother of four. Speaking of her own experience, Kim said that if she were to do it all over again, she would “be so strict from the start.”

Khloe, her younger sister, who has two kids of her own told Kim that it was not too late to adopt a stricter parenting role. The Good American co-founder runs a stricter household with her kids and does not shame her sisters for not doing the same.

In a confessional during the same episode, Khloe mentioned, “My sisters and I, we all have different households, we raise our kids differently. I’m not judging if everyone’s happy and healthy and great, then wonderful, but my type of parenting is we do everything by a schedule,” adding that True, 6, and Tatum, 2, whom she shares with her ex Tristin Thompson, love following their schedules.
