KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack is hunting down charts.

It has become the highest debuting soundtrack of 2025 by grabbing the 8th position on the Billboard 200 chart. This makes it the first soundtrack to enter the top 10 since Wicked in late 2024.

The Wicked album was the only soundtrack to appear in the top 10 in 2025, spending four weeks there in January.

The soundtrack has also claimed the first spot on Soundtracks chart becoming the first album from a Netflix show to enter No.1 in over two years. The last one was Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Volume 4.

KPop Demon Hunters has been ruling hearts since its release on June 20. The Netflix musical is based on K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey who are using their powers to protect their fans from supernatural threats.

The film that boasts a mixture of brilliant animation and demon hunting has had fans drooling over it, making it one of the top 3 trending movies on Netflix.

With every good film comes a hurdle. While the film itself hasn’t stirred any controversies, its character, Rumi, has definitely faced criticism.

Rumors had it that the character was inspired by BLACKPINK’s Jennie. Fans accused the director, Maggie Kang, of using Jennie’s name for clout.

Kang took to X and issued a clarification, “Rumi was inspired by many leading ladies, some not even K-Pop. Names are going around (individual idols + groups) bc we only said “yes” as they were mentioned by interviewer to us but list of inspo for both Huntr/x & Saja Boys is endless. This has been clarified by us to press”.

There is no clarity as to where and when exactly was Jennie name-dropped by Kang.

The voice cast of the film includes Arden Cho as Rumi, May Hong as Mira, Ji-young Yoo as Zoey, Ahn Hyo-seop as Jinu, Byung Hun Lee as Gwi-Ma, Yunjin Kim as Celine and Daniel Dae Kim as Healer.

KPop Demon Hunters has been dominating charts worldwide. It reached No. 1 in 26 countries, was in the Top 10 in 93 countries, and debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Album Charts, K-pop Charts, and Apple Music’s Pop and K-Pop Album Charts.
