Kyle Richards is updating the fans about the status of her relationship with Mauricio Umansky nine months after announcing their separation.

Kyle revealed that Umansky and she were no longer seeking ‘therapy’ for their relationship issues on a joint Amazon Live session with her daughter Alexia Umansky. She explained, “We’re just taking a break from that,” adding, “But we get along very well and we’re really good friends.”

Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills observed the couple’s marital issues throughout the season, as well as getting candid about seeking marital ‘therapy’ together. They even agreed that counseling had been a “great comfort.”

Richards told cameras before Umansky revealed that their sessions have been “fun” and allowed him to be “more in tune with myself,” “I thought it was important to go to couple’s therapy because the more difficult things get between us, the more difficult it has been to communicate.” While Umansky’s confession did not find Kyle in the greatest mood, he quickly clarified, “All I’m saying is that this is helping us. I think we’re in a way better place.” He continued, “We’ve been married for 27 years. We’ve never had so much going on in our lives. I think it’s become hard. Right? It’s become really hard.”

However, their marital problems had been brewing for a long time, and their separation culminated into a definitive one by the time Season 13 of RHOBH ended, specifically during the ‘reunion’ episode. The Bravo star spoke about the busy schedules the two have to follow with work and raising their children, which had pushed their problems aside rather than solve them. She said, “With any marriage, there are issues that you have and they come up,” adding, “Some of the issues never went away and they were never really like worked on.”

She continued while trying to contain her tears, “I care about my family first and I mean I tried, I really did try,” adding, “And so then when I couldn’t, the kind of things I had been — don’t want to say put up with, but you know, just became more apparent to me I guess.” She further said, “I guess I couldn’t do that anymore. I finally decided a breaking point but I really thought [our marriage] would come back,” before adding, “I thought, ‘Okay this is just a temporary thing’ and it didn’t.”
