La Brea is a science fiction drama series that centers on a massive sinkhole, that reveals an unexplainable primeval world. When a sinkhole opens in the middle of Los Angeles at the site of the La Brea Tar Pits and Wilshire Boulevard, many people, vehicles, and buildings are tugged into its depth.
Many die in the process and the survivors find themselves in a mysterious land where they are forced to stay together to survive. The story focuses on a family, who are separated by the events of the sinkhole and are attempting to reunite. The father had visions of where the rest of the family is and as the series progresses, the investigator team finds out that the sinkholes are a temporary portal to the same location 10,000 years earlier. At the same time, the survivors try to come out of the hole before the portal closes up forever.
The series debuted on NBC on September 28, 2021, and received mixed reviews from critics. It was renewed for a second season in November 2021. Unfortunately, we don’t have a release date for La Brea Season 2 yet. But we surely know that it was renewed in November 2021. According to TVLine, the first episode of the second season is titled Three Days Later and showrunner David Appelbaum said, “We’re so thrilled to be back in production for season 2.”
“Can’t wait for our fans to see all of the mysteries and surprises we have in store. It’s going to be an exciting season.”
