The Harris family is back for more mysteries and more answers in the final chapter!
With just two seasons, La Brea has quickly become a must-watch show for audiences around the world. Now, after being on air since 2021, the story will ultimately reach its end, where the viewers can expect to unfold many mind-bending revelations and unforeseen alliances that will challenge everything they thought they knew about the mystifying world of La Brea!
Especially after this cliffhanger ending of the second season, which has left many questions about how the story will end and bid farewell to their fans soon, in order to avoid any further confusion about the official release date, we have compiled all the latest information that has been floating over the web in the face of rumors in order to give clarity to our beloved readers.
Here is everything we currently know about La Brea Season 3.
La Brea Season 3 Release Date: When will it return?
After being renewed for a third season earlier this year in January 2023, the new episodes are all set to premiere next year as a part of the 2024 midseason lineup on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the time slot of 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and later available to stream on Peacock. The season premiere will be followed by the final two episodes of “Found” at 10 p.m. on the network.
Moreover, the third season of the sci-fi drama has also been ordered to be the final one!
The reason is that after the pandemic halted production on its 2020 pilot, the show had a strong premiere in autumn 2021 with a 10-episode first season, earning a 14-episode second season renewal. It was then impacted by the now-resolved WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, forcing NBC to opt for a shortened season and release performers so they could pursue other opportunities.
La Brea Season 3: What to expect?
Not much has been revealed about the potential plotlines of the six-episode third season, but last year, show creator David Appelbaum gave away a bit of information to TV Fanatic: “We have a lot of ideas for where the show could go moving forward. I’ve had ideas for Season 3 for a long time, but we’re starting to map them out,” he said. “The end of Season 2 leaves us with several cliffhangers, which I do want to give away yet because there is a lot of show for people to watch.”
On the other hand, Natalie Zea also told TV Line that “an event” will lead to a major shake-up for the whole cast. “I will spoil that there is a wardrobe change. For everyone,” she said.
The actress also revealed what’s more to come for the Eve/Gavin/Levi love triangle: “Levi is in a different time and place doesn’t mean that all the problems are, too,” Zea said. “Now [Eve and Gavin] have to actually confront each other about what happened and who’s to blame, who was really wronged and who was wrong. And when you’re doing that alongside [prehistoric] creatures and constant death and destruction, it adds to the stakes. It adds to the emotional stakes, too.”
