La Brea Season 3 Renewal Status

The good news has finally arrived for the fans, as La Brea will definitely return to the screen with the third season! It is no surprise that the show is returning for another season, as the overall reception alone indicates the show’s popularity along with the fairly good critical acclaim from the audience and critics. Additionally, the series has been a strong performer for NBC. Season 1, which debuted in September 2021, was the No. 1 new show of the fall season in the ad-friendly 18-49 demographic.

It was also the top drama of the entire 2021-22 TV season. The Season 2 premiere brought in a 0.49 demo rating and about 4M Live+Same-Day viewers on September 27. So far, the second installment has averaged 0.39 and 3.6M viewers. On the other hand, the official Twitter handle of NBC Entertainment also shared the third season’s announcement among its followers, quoting, “The epic adventure continues. #LaBrea will return for Season 3 on NBC.” Take a look at the official announcement below:

La Brea Season 3: What to expect?

We would like to bring attention to the fact that the exact launch date has yet to be determined, as the series was recently renewed by the network. However, it has been speculated that the forthcoming season would most likely have a release window suggested to be around the fall of the 2023-2024 season with September being the likely month of the season’s premiere on NBC.

On the other hand, it is expected to follow a similar time slot, with new episodes dropping on a weekly basis on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on NBC and later available to stream on Peacock. Of course, this is just speculation!

Hence, we suggest that the viewers be patient and follow all the social media platforms for the series to be updated with the latest information for the third season. Seeing as we’re barely halfway through the current season, we don’t have much to reveal about potential Season 3 plot points. Appelbaum gave away a bit of information to TV Fanatic in December.

“We have a lot of ideas for where the show could go moving forward. I’ve had ideas for Season 3 for a long time, but we’re starting to map them out,” he said. “The end of Season 2 leaves us with several cliffhangers, which I do want to give away yet because there is a lot of show for people to watch.”

However, we can fill you in on what to expect during the second season. Zea told TV Line that “an event” will lead to a major shake-up for the whole cast. “I will spoil that there is a wardrobe change. For everyone,” she said. The actress also revealed that there’s more to come for the Eve/Gavin/Levi love triangle. “Levi is in a different time and place doesn’t mean that all the problems are, too,” Zea said. “Now [Eve and Gavin] have to actually confront each other about what happened and who’s to blame, who was really wronged and who was wrong. And when you’re doing that alongside [prehistoric] creatures and constant death and destruction, it adds to the stakes. It adds to the emotional stakes, too.”

The series stars who are expected to reprise their roles in the new season are as follows: Natalie Zea, Eoin Macken, Jon Seda, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chiké Okonkwo, Zyra Gorecki, Jack Martin, Veronica St. Clair, Rohan Mirchandaney, Lily Santiago, Josh McKenzie, Tonantzin Carmelo, and Michelle Vergara Moore. La Brea comes from writer David Appelbaum, who executive produces with Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan, Chris Hollier, Adam Davidson, Bryan Wynbrandt, Steven Lilien, Ken Woodruff, and Arika Lisanne Mittman.
