Lady Gaga confirms playing the role of Harley Quinn in Joker 2

It’s time for DC fans to rejoice as Joker 2 is already in the making, and it seems like one of the most powerful duos is going to team up for the upcoming sequel. Recently, DC unveiled the brand new official teaser for Joker 2, following which international singer Lady Gaga has confirmed her casting in the movie.

Earlier, multiple reports stated that the diva was considered to play the role of Harley Quinn in the DC drama after she won over the hearts of the industry people with her exceptional performance in the House of Gucci.

Gaga’s Joker connection

A few weeks ago, the title of Jokers sequel was also revealed by the makers, which is Joker: Folie à Deux. Moreover, Joaquin Phoenix, who played the titular role in Joker, will make a return to the franchise in its sequel. For the unversed, he won the Oscar for Best Actor owing to his outstanding performance in the 2019 movie.

Talking about the film’s teaser, it is set to Cheek to Cheek by Louis Armstrong. Now, the interesting part here is that Lady Gaga has already covered it alongside Tony Bennet, who is a jazz artist. For the unversed, Joker 2 is going to be a musical, and as per the casting, the diva is perfect for the role.

The latest that we know is that the makers of Joker 2 have also confirmed its release date. Variety has reported that the film is all set to hit the theatre screens on October 4, 2024. The fans have been excited to watch the film ever since the sequel was announced.
