The series will return to premiere its remaining episodes starting on December 8, 2022, with its 9th episode simply titled “The System,” at the same time scheduled every Thursday at 8/7c on NBC and Peacock. It will air alongside Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 23 and Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 on Thursday at different time slots, which will retain their 9/8c and 10/9c time slots, respectively.

The network has not released any official synopsis of the episode as of November 22, 2022. So, it is already assumed that the new episode will continue the plot from the previous episode in which the viewers got to see that when a decorated military veteran is found murdered in his own home, Cosgrove and Shaw collaborate with his daughter to find a crucial clue.

To make their case, Price and Maroun must untangle the stories of other service members connected to the victim. Hence, the plot will revolve and explore around the lives hanging in the balance as detectives and prosecutors pursue justice in New York City, investigating crimes and convicting perpetrators in cases ripped from the headlines.
