After 2 years of the former couple announcing the end of their marriage, Lisa Bonet is ready for a new chapter in her life as she officially filed for divorce from her former husband Jason Momoa and decided to move forward with her legal separation.

According to the documents obtained by Page Six, shortly after filing the paperwork to end her marriage, Lisa told the court that she and Jason had come to an agreement and had settled on their property and marital rights as of Monday, January 8. Page Six reports also tell that the divorce filing was “uncontested” as their paperwork said that “The parties have a written agreement that will be submitted to the court, or a stipulation for judgment will be submitted to the court.”

The couple started dating in 2005 and tied the knot secretly after 12 years of dating, in October 2017.

The couple shared a joint Instagram post (which has now been deleted), writing, “A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring,” they further wrote, “And so We share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.”

Even after their split, the couple assured that there’s nothing but love between them as they further explained that “The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and loved. We free each other to be who we are learning to become,” they said adding, “Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what’s possible. Living the Prayer. May love prevail,” they concluded the announcement post by saying that their topmost priority was to co-parent their kids.

Lisa reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, in the documents obtained by People. She also noted the official date of separation as October 7, 2020, which is around a year and a half before the two revealed that they were no longer together. In the same filing, “The Cosby Show” actress mentioned the couple’s two children, Lola, 16, and Nakoa-Wolf, 15 as she’s reportedly seeking “joint child custody” of their kids. Bonet who is also mom to actress Zoë Kravitz whom she shares with ex-husband Lenny Kravitz, requested “no spousal support” for either side.

According to the reports obtained by Hollywood Life, after the initial breakup of the former couple, an insider claimed that in February 2022, Lisa and Jason decided to call off their separation. “Jason moved back in with Lisa about two weeks ago and they are very much back together,” the source said at the time. “They decided to work on things rather than throw in the towel because they have so much invested in each other.” Even though they gave another chance to their relationship two years ago, the couple has now officially decided to part ways.
