An upcoming Netflix Original supernatural thriller series, Lockwood & Co is based upon the titular young adult novels written by Jonathan Stroud. With its release date nearing, the anticipation of the fans for the show is exponentially increasing owing to its exciting young cast and its gripping storyline.

As per the official reports, the filming for the Netflix supernatural began on July 5, 2021, in London. On March 15, 2022 the filming was reportedly wrapped in London. Based on some of the behind-the-scenes shared on social media, the filming is believed to happen in blocks, wherein the second block concluded at the start of December 2021.
According to What’s on Netflix, “It has been confirmed that the first season of Lockwood & Co will have a total of eight episodes. Each episode has an approximate runtime of 60 minutes.”
That being said, the seemingly interminable wait to stream this show is now up. The network officially confirmed that Lockwood & Co will premiere on January 27, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET).

What is the storyline of Lockwood & Co.?
The official plot synopsis of Lockwood & Co. via Netflix reads:
“In London, where the most gifted teenage ghost-hunters venture nightly into perilous combat with deadly spirits, amidst the many corporate, adult-run agencies, one stands alone: independent of any commercial imperative or adult supervision – a tiny startup, run by two teenage boys and a newly arrived, supremely psychically gifted girl, a renegade trio destined to unravel a mystery that will change the course of history: Lockwood & Co.”
As previously mentioned, the supernatural thriller is based on the five novels written by Jonathan Stroud. The first season which will be dropping on January 27th is based on the first novel in the series, The Screaming Staircase. Be that as it may, the creators of the show haven’t disclosed how many books will be covered in a single season yet.
In conversation with Deadline, Rachael Prior, the Big Talk Head of Film and Kenton Allen, the Big Talk CEO expressed the “great affinity” they share with the Lockwood books adding how it constitutes “distinct Britishness, innovative world building, vibrantly drawn characters and joyful command of the genre.” Additionally, they added how the TV series will be a “highly original, distinctively authored, ghost-detective show to enthral audiences of all ages.”
