During the Love Is Blind season 9 reunion, which aired Wednesday, October 29, reality star Megan Walerius, known to fans as “Sparkle” Megan, revealed that she has become a mother. The 35-year-old made the announcement while reflecting on her journey through the Netflix series and her earlier uncertainty about stepping into a parental role with her former fiancé Jordan Keltner’s 5-year-old son, Luca.

“Today I actually have a little bit of a surprise,” Megan said during the reunion. “I am a mom now. I had a baby boy 2-and-a-half months ago.”

Megan went on to share that her newborn son is named Brooks and described him as “my whole world.” She added, “I now know more than ever I was meant on this earth to be a mom. He’s amazing and our family is very happy.”

Supporting her from the audience was her partner, Paul, whom Megan revealed she met through a mutual friend three months after wrapping filming for Love Is Blind. The two began dating soon after meeting and became pregnant three months into their relationship.

“We had our ups and downs,” Megan admitted. “I’m not going to say it was perfect. But Paul has been amazing, and we’re very happy.”

The reality star reflected on how motherhood has changed her perspective, explaining, “I’m definitely learning to be a lot more selfless. I think that becoming a mom is the ultimate act of selflessness. It’s given me a lot more empathy too for Jordan and being a single dad. I applaud Jordan for even doing this experiment and putting his heart out there. It’s really special.”

Although Megan’s announcement surprised her Love Is Blind castmates, her former fiancé Jordan Keltner said he had learned the news beforehand. “I had some disgusting person reach out to me on Instagram pretty much trying to stir the pot, so I just reached out to Megan,” Jordan shared. “She was very transparent, which I appreciate. If I would’ve found out right here, right now I think that would have been jarring, so I appreciate the transparency and the honesty. You’re gonna be great parents, and I have no doubt in my mind about that.”

Megan noted that it was challenging to keep her pregnancy private, though she was able to enjoy the experience. She said she even held a phone-free baby shower to preserve her privacy.

“Being cast into the limelight now, I just wanted to have my pregnancy and the start of Brooks’ life for us to have in private,” she explained.

Speculation about Megan’s motherhood began earlier in the month when paparazzi photos showed her holding a baby. Hours before the reunion aired, she posted a message on Instagram that fueled further curiosity:

“There’s always more to the story… Who’s ready for the reunion tonight?! Tune in to @netflix at 6pm PST✨”

Megan’s life has changed significantly since her time on Love Is Blind. In the season 9 finale, she ended her engagement to Jordan days before their wedding. During the breakup conversation, she expressed lingering uncertainty about their relationship.

“I still have reservations, and that’s not how I should be feeling going into my wedding [and] our wedding,” she told him. “I’m sorry for not feeling more compassion for you and understanding and giving you what you needed in a fiancé. I just can’t do this.”

Megan and Jordan’s relationship had initially been built on emotional connection — particularly over the fact that both had loved ones with diabetes, as Jordan’s son shared the same diagnosis as Megan’s late father. However, Megan later admitted in a confessional that the relationship made her question her readiness for motherhood.

“I mean, maybe I’m just not cut out to be a stepmom. Honestly, this has me questioning if I’m even cut out to be a mom,” she said. “I don’t know, maybe I am too caught up in my own life. All I wanted coming into this experiment was to find love and to find my partner,” she continued. “I will love Jordan always — but he’s not my partner.”

At the reunion, Jordan reflected on his earlier comments about regretting that his son met Megan, clarifying that it was about timing, not her character. “I didn’t mean I regretted introducing you as a person,” he explained. “Just, at his age, stability is very important. That wasn’t even you, that was me signing up to do this and bringing him into the whole experiment. It had nothing to do with Megan, she’s an amazing person.”

All nine seasons of Love Is Blind are now available for streaming on Netflix.
