Macaulay Culkin set to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The beloved star who captured our hearts with his iconic role as Kevin McCallister in the “Home Alone” film series is finally receiving Hollywood’s most recognized star, which he truly deserves.

The 43-year-old actor has become a household name, and his contribution to the entertainment industry is nothing short of remarkable, from his unforgettable performances in films like “My Girl” and “Richie Rich” to his ability to bring laughter and joy to audiences worldwide with later projects, which also included a musical venture with the New York comedy rock band Pizza Underground. Over the years, Culkin has left an indelible mark on Hollywood with a career spanning almost three decades!

He continues to be a crucial figure in pop culture as he is about to become the 2,765th recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which solidifies his legacy and cements his status as an icon for years to come.

The announcement of Culkin’s honor was made public in a recently issued press release, revealing that the ceremony would take place on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:30 AM PT at 6353 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA 90028. Joining the emcee, Steve Nissen, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, are guest speakers Natasha Lyonne and Culkin’s Home Alone mom Catherine O’Hara while he receives his star in the category of Motion Pictures. 

In addition to this, Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, said the following in the release: 

“Macaulay Culkin has been a staple in pop culture for decades. He has an extensive trajectory of work but his movie, ‘Home Alone’ is one of the most beloved holiday movies known the world over. How fitting that Catherine O’Hara who played Macaulay’s mother in the film is reuniting with her movie son and will be speaking at the ceremony!”

Adding to his credits previously Culkin received a Golden Globe nomination for his performances in Home Alone. He also appeared on stage to critical acclaim in Madame Melville and portrayed the ill-fated Michael Alig in the motion picture cult classic Party Monster. His television credits include roles on Kings, The Jim Gaffigan Show, and Robot Chicken. Culkin took a break from acting in 1995, but soon he returned in 2003 with a guest appearance on the television show Will & Grace

He wrote an autobiography, Junior, which was published in 2006. He most recently appeared in American Horror Story: Installment 10 for FX and in The Righteous Gemstones for HBO Max. Culkin continues to make giving back his priority by supporting charities such as the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and Stand Up To Cancer. He is currently the publisher and CEO of Bunny Ears, a satirical pop culture website, podcast, live events as well as social and merchandising components.

Culkin has been in a relationship with his Changeland co-star Brenda Song, with whom he shares two children. Song, 35, is an actress who was born in California, and she began her career at the age of six, working as a child model. She subsequently signed a contract with Disney Channel and gained widespread recognition for playing Tipton Hotel’s heiress, London Tipton, in the comedy franchise The Suite Life, earning her acclaim and two Young Hollywood Awards.
