MAMAMOO’s Solar announces her debut solo fan meet in China this month

MAMAMOO member Solar is going to have her first-ever solo fan meeting in China soon. The news has been revealed by the K-pop idol’s agency, RBW.

According to reports, the event will take place in Chongqing on August 23, Saturday. It’s titled “Floating Free: This Moment of Heartbeat” and reflects the emotional connection Solar hopes to share with her fans.

RBW has also confirmed that Solar will speak Mandarin during this interaction as a gesture of gratitude toward her Chinese fans. The event is expected to include several interactive segments to help the MAMAMOO member engage more closely with the audience. The tickets for the event opened on August 1, Friday, through XiaoMang.

Earlier Stints

Earlier last year, Solar had successfully wrapped up her first solo tour of eight Asian cities. The MAMAMOO member also took the lead role in her fourth appearance in the musical titled Mata Hari, which ran from December 5 to March 2, 2024.

What’s on the work front?

Solar released both the song and its visual for the track titled Want on April 2, 2025, via RBW Entertainment. It marked her second solo single album and her first release of the year. 

In a press statement that was released soon thereafter, RBW Entertainment described the new track by Solar as one that is special. The agency further stated that the track is all about “courage and excitement of being with someone you like before making your relationship official in time for spring, the season of new beginnings”.

In the official music video, the MAMAMOO member walks up to a boutique hotel on the street. Later, she is seen picking up a lit sign reading “WANT” off the hotel’s front and using it as her hair clip. Solar then begins to perform the song within the hotel, fitted with all kinds of retro furnishing.

Want notably also marks the K-pop idol’s first music release since her third mini-album Colours. The latter was released way back in April 2024. Solar made her solo debut with the ‘容 : FACE’ in 2022, which was led by the single Honey.
