In one of her recent interviews, Meghan Markle talked to The Cut and commented on how Prince Charles and Prince Harry’s relationship has been amid the much-talked-about royal rift. The Duchess of Sussex has now clarified her comments via her representative and also released an official statement from her side regarding the same. Here is what Meghan said in the interview, “Harry said to me, ‘I lost my dad in this process.’ It doesn’t have to be the same for them as it was for me, but that’s his decision.”

The clarification

Now, Meghan Markle’s representative has clarified while speaking to E! News that the comment has been misunderstood in the media. The rep further said that Meghan was referring to her rapport with her estranged father, Thomas Markle, and was reportedly saying that she did not want the same outcome for Prince Harry and Prince Charles. Talking about the recent clarification, it came from the Duchess of Sussex’s side after it was reported by BBC about a source close to Prince Charles stating that the Prince of Wales was disappointed to know that Harry felt his relationship with his father was lost.

Prince Harry on his father

Talking about Prince Harry, he had spoken about his relationship with his father, Prince Charles, during an interview with Oprah. According to him, his father had stopped taking his phone calls after he and his wife Meghan Markle decided to step back from the royal family as the senior members. However, things seem to be better now as the royal family was seen uniting following Prince Philips’s demise and the recent visit to the UK by the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex.

Earlier, Kate Middleton and Prince William also wished Meghan Markle on her 41st birthday a few weeks ago. The duo took to Instagram and especially wished the Duchess of Sussex on her special day. The two of them shared the same blessing on their official combined Twitter account for Markle. Both kept it simple as they shared a photo of Meghan Markle that was earlier clicked at the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations in June this year. This is what the caption read, “Wishing a happy birthday to the Duchess of Sussex!”

Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Charles also took to Twitter to congratulate the Suits star and wrote, “Happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!” They also attached a snap from the very same event. The picture of Meghan Markle shared by the royals was clicked on the same event, which was the Queen’s service of thanksgiving that happened at St. Paul’s Cathedral. For the unversed, Markle appeared in a royal event for the first time with her husband, Prince Harry, after the pair’s exit from the royal family that happened in 2020.
