Megyn Kelly publicly condemns Sydney Sweeney’s viral silver corset dress that drew eyeballs from all directions.

According to Page Six, the 54-year-old conservative commentator shared her views on her talk show Thursday, asserting, “I object to this. I disapprove of the dress because it’s completely see-through.”

The journalist remarked that she could see the actress’ entire chest in the Christian Cowan gown, which Sweeney reportedly wore to Variety’s Power of Women event on Wednesday. Although Kelly cynically praised the Euphoria actress’ “No. 1 assets” as “enormous” and “spectacular”, she compared Sweeney to Kim Kardashian.

Kelly said, “She … overshares and then takes away the thing that is the sexiest, which is every guy’s hope to be the one who actually sees them for real, and leaving a little to the imagination.”

However, the Megyn Kelly Show host later added that she is a “Sydney Sweeney fan.”

Kelly further conjectured that the “very young” Sweeney was “misled” into donning such a revealing piece.

“I guarantee you, somebody brought the dress to her and was like, ‘Now we’ll take it next level.’ And she trusted the wrong person, and before you knew it, we had all seen it”, the journalist speculated.

Noting the gown to be a “rare misstep”, Kelly articulated she had recently supported Sweeney when the actress was entangled in a controversy with American Eagle’s “Great Jeans” ad.

Per the reports, Kelly sardonically marked that she “draw[s] the line at the areola.”

While the conservative media personality expressed her staunch viewpoints, the social media was split by netizens arguing over Sweeney’s sartorial choices. One social media user claimed that the dress didn’t “empower but overpower,” and another observed, “She’s … wearing a dress that puts her body on display more than her message.”

Although Sweeney has not directly responded to the simmering controversy of her dress, she took to Instagram to share a series of posts in the dress on Thursday, which she wore while delivering a speech about being “underestimated.” The post was captioned with “the power of women.”

Additionally, as the Daily Mail states, the White Lotus star exuded bold confidence in the sparkly silver dress that put her chest on display. Not only that, but her recent bob look, compounded with a bright pink cheek, a nude lip, and black mascara, reverberated a dauntless vibe in front of the photographers.

In addition to Sweeney, other celebrities who were spotted during the event included Nicole Scherzinger, Wanda Sykes, and Kate Hudson.

Speaking to Variety before the show kicked off, the actress opened up about wrapping Euphoria season 3. According to The Daily Mail, the actress will reportedly film her final scenes later this week, and therefore consequently expressed, “It’s gonna be a really bittersweet moment.”

“I’m kind of terrified for how emotional it’s gonna be. It’s been such a journey. It’s been my entire twenties. They’ve been my family and friends for so long. I’ve been forever grateful for all of them”, she told the news outlet.

As per the reports, Sweeney’s appearance at the Variety event comes one day after the actress attended the 2025 World Series on Tuesday, where she was snapped alongside the famous former female boxer, Christy Martin, whom she plays in the upcoming movie Christy.

While speaking to Variety a few days earlier, the actress opened up about her thoughts on undergoing plastic surgery. Denying any intentions of having plastic surgery or cosmetic procedure, the actress said, “I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I’m going to age gracefully.”

“It’s really funny. I’ll see things online like “comparison pictures.” I’m like, “I’m 12 in that photo. Of course, I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older'”, Sweeney added.

Talking about her public perception, the actress said, “I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t. So when people think, “Ah, she’s a sex symbol,” or “she’s leaning into that,” I’m like, “No, I just feel good and I’m doing it for myself and I feel strong.”‘
