The Princess of Wales is making a rare and emotional revelation about her cancer diagnosis that occurred in 2024.

According to PEOPLE, Kate Middleton made an unannounced visit to a hospital with Prince William. During this unexpected visit to Charing Cross Hospital in west London on January 8, the 43-year-old princess, while striking up a conversation with a volunteer who worked with chemotherapy patients, opened up about her treatment.

When the volunteer revealed how the patients and visitors are there “for hours”, Princess Kate replied, “I know.” She later added, “We know”, touching Prince William’s arm, according to Hello! Magazine.

Not just that, but Prince William also talked about his wife’s cancer treatment during a roundtable discussion in the hospital.

“Both of us have had different experiences with hospitals. Me working with the air ambulance; Catherine with her recent health journey”, he told staff, as The Sun reports.

He added, “And coming here today and reminding ourselves just how important all the teams are, all the staff, the patients. It’s so heartwarming, and it’s so important that we kind of acknowledge and appreciate all that goes on in the NHS and that very strong bond between patient and carer.”

Ever since her diagnosis and her entire journey of undergoing cancer treatment in 2024, the statement is recorded as a rare and emotional revelation from the Princess of Wales.

The official announcement of the diagnosis appeared in March 2024, when Middleton released a video message in which she revealed that she had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. She had stepped back from her royal duties to focus on her health and later in September 2024, she announced that she had completed chemotherapy.

According to PEOPLE, in January 2025, she was relieved to find herself in remission, as she announced after visiting The Royal Marsden Hospital’s Chelsea Hub. It was later confirmed that the princess received her treatment from the Royal Marsden during her cancer journey. Following her treatment success, Princess Kate reportedly resumed her royal duties with a more regular schedule in 2025 and kick-started her career in 2026 with William, making a surprise visit to the hospital.

The reason behind the royal couple’s visit to the Charing Cross Hospital was to draw attention to the work of NHS staff and volunteers as they deal with the increasing demand for services during the winter months. Being the joint patrons, William and Kate surprised healthcare staff on their tea break and gave their ear to the pressures the staff are facing during the winter virus season. They then met with volunteers who ameliorate patient care and alleviate pressure from the wider workforce.

As per the reports, the royal couple made a public appearance before Princess Kate’s 44th birthday on Friday, January 9, and after their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, returned to school after their break.
