Millie Bobby Brown is publicly clarifying how she felt on the set of Stranger Things as questions continue to circulate about the work environment during production of the show’s final season.

Her latest comments arrive weeks after reports surfaced alleging that she filed a bullying and harassment complaint against David Harbour before Season 5 began filming. Brown, who has played Eleven since 2016, spoke to Deadline about her dynamic with Harbour and her comfort level while creating some of the series’ most demanding emotional moments.

She said she never felt uneasy working with him throughout their decade on screen together.

“Of course I felt safe, I mean, we have worked together for 10 years. I feel safe with everyone on that set,” Brown said.

She explained that their long history contributed to a natural sense of trust during production. “You naturally just… you know, you have been doing it for so long. We also play father and daughter so naturally, we have a closer bond than the rest because we have had some really intense scenes together, especially in Season 2,” she said.

In the interview, Brown emphasized that the relationship between their characters remains central to the series’ conclusion.

“David and I have a great relationship, we work really closely together in the scenes and preparing for the scenes and I really am excited to see for everyone to see the labor of love and hard work we have put into the closure of our relationship and what that looks like,” she added.

She noted that viewers who connect strongly with the Hopper and Eleven storyline should expect emotional material in the final episodes.

“Especially the Hopper and Eleven fans. Those scenes that I feel, I think, are going to be quite impactful. I love it. It makes me want to bring my A game every single time I see that I am on the call sheet working with him because I know he is bringing it right back,” she said.

Her remarks stand in contrast to allegations reported earlier this month by the Daily Mail. According to that report, Brown allegedly filed a formal complaint against Harbour prior to the start of Season 5 production in early 2024.

“There were pages and pages of accusations,” a source told the outlet.

The same source clarified that Harbour had not been accused of s*xual misconduct.

“The investigation went on for months,” they said.

Additional reports claimed that Brown was accompanied by a representative on set during the filming of the series finale.

However, executive producer Shawn Levy later told The Hollywood Reporter that some circulating claims regarding the situation were inaccurate.

“You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe,” Levy said, addressing the broader principle rather than confirming specific allegations.

Netflix has not issued a public statement regarding the reported complaint or the investigation described by the Daily Mail.

Representatives for Brown and Harbour have also not released comments addressing the claims.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things debuted on Netflix on Wednesday.

Brown’s latest remarks focus on her long-standing collaboration with Harbour and highlight her continued commitment to their shared storyline despite the recent speculation.

Her interview provides one of the first on record responses from either actor following reports about behind-the-scenes tensions.

As the final season continues to draw attention, questions surrounding the workplace climate remain part of the broader conversation about the series’ concluding chapter.

The show’s final episodes mark the end of a production relationship that shaped many of the series’ defining scenes, including the father-daughter narrative that Brown referenced as central to the work they completed during their final months on set.
