Is Mr. Mayor Season 3 in the making? Read on to know more.
If you have enjoyed watching A Good Place and Cheers, Mr. Mayor is especially your cup of tea. Ted Danson stars in the titular character and delivers a compelling performance, his usual stunt. The comedy king has been a part of this American sitcom for two years now, with two seasons of the show that has aired on NBC. The show might have begun with a low note but eventually had gained its ground. The Dansen fans are eagerly waiting for the new season to come up.
For the uninitiated, Mr. Mayor revolves around Neil Bremer. Bremer is a retired advertising executive who finally decides to run for Mayor in Los Angeles, as Deadline calls it— one of the weirdest cities in America. Bremer was simply trying to prove that he has ‘still got it’ and also to prove his worth and connect with his teenage daughter Orly (who loves embarrassing her father).
Neil finally wins the election and now finds himself at a juncture where he must decide his modus operandi and actually prove his worth and gain respect from his staff, colleagues, and especially the Deputy Mayor. He found himself juggling his duties and aspirations and doing everything right for the dazzling city of Los Angeles.
The show already had aired for two seasons on NBC. Season 1 premiered on January 7, 2021. Season 2 was renewed in March 2021 and finally premiered on March 15, 2022. Now the fans are looking forward to a new season. So, the question that pops up is whether Mr. Mayor will be renewed for more seasons.
Here’s everything we need to know about Mr. Mayor Season 3.
Will there be a Season 3 of Mr. Mayor?
Unfortunately, Mr. Mayor Season 3 is canceled by NBC. In two consecutive seasons, the ratings have moved downwards. Inevitably, NBC has decided to put a full stop to its renewal. Therefore, Mr. Mayor will not be back in the Fall. With this, Ted Danson’s mayoral tenure comes to an end.
Mr. Mayor Season 3 Release Date
It goes without saying that since Mr. Mayor Season 3 is canceled, there’s no release date too. Since NBC has been canceling quite some dramas from airing, incidentally, Mr. Mayor is one of them. But you can always watch the trailer of Season 2. Here’s to you.
How did Mr. Mayor perform?
Season 1 received an average rating from various critics. Variety’s TV critic Dan Daddario has commented on Fey’s, whose last NBC hit was 30 Rock, recent creation. He remarked, “Amidst the world of television, ’30 Rock’ evinced a deep love for its subject, the sort of love that allows one to tweak vanities with deep familiarity and warm wit. ‘Mr. Mayor’ looks at politics with the sort of aggrieved skepticism that makes a viewer wonder why its creators bothered making it a show at all.” Season 2 ‘s rating has propelled downward with respect to viewership and live streaming. Thus making it an average one.
How did the fans react?
The fans, on getting to know the news, have been regretting NBC’s decision. While one said it is funny that the show’s cancellation only came right after the show had found its footing, the other said that she’s not disappointed, for she’s sure to find the creators returning with a newer piece.
Of course NBC canceled MR. MAYOR after it finally found its footing and was consistently being the funniest thing on the big networks.

I’m not upset that Mr. Mayor was canceled because I dig the people who made it & I want them to make something else instead
