After all this great news, the fans have also started to wonder if there will be a third movie in the works or not. It is not a far-fetched question, as it seems like the second film sets up the potential for another sequel. So, if you also watched Murder Mystery 2 and are wondering the same thing, then you have come to the right place, as we have compiled everything we know so far about the third film on Netflix.

Murder Mystery 3: Is it in the works or not?

Firstly, we would like to clear the air by saying that, unfortunately, the third movie in the Murder Mystery series has not been announced by Netflix yet. As mentioned above, we know that the sequel premiered a few hours ago, so it is unreasonable to ask for any updates about a potential third movie. So, the fans might have to wait some time for the network to acknowledge this information, if it ever happens!

There is no doubt that this action comedy mystery film series has the potential to become a great franchise, and so far the viewers have also agreed with the idea of watching the beloved duo be back for more movies. We would like to highlight that this can only happen if the creators create more intriguing murder cases for Nick and Audrey Spitz to solve without making them monotonous and boring.

Before the planning and production phases begin to fully take effect, there are many factors that influence the approval of a third movie, including general reception, production costs, budgets, investments, and schedules that need to be cleared up in order to make a promising movie that leaves a memorable mark on the minds of the viewers and makes them want more! Hence, this might take some time to approve.

What is our prediction?

Right now, we at Web News Observer are very certain that all signs are positive for a third movie to happen without any doubts, as the second one ended with a potential plotline that can be explored further as we see Nick and Audrey strengthen their love by placing a symbolic clasp on a Paris bridge before they return home.

*Spoiler Alert*

If you have streamed the movie then you’ll know that the two are in for one more surprise: the Maharajah has sent an aide to lend them his helicopter and a bag full of cash in appreciation for solving yet another riddle. Nick and Audrey depart for their well-deserved vacation. It all works out in the end!

Moreover, the Spitzes’ helicopter pilot drops his absurd European accent and holds the couple up at gunpoint, taking their bag of cash and parachuting out of the helicopter. Freeze-frame on Nick and Audrey stranded above Greece, Champagne spilled and honeymoon potentially ruined. How’re they going to get out of this one?

On the other hand, director Jeremy Garelick tells Tudum, quote, “Well, first of all, they have to figure out how to land the helicopter safely.” Further adding, “They’re learning to fly a helicopter on the go as they’re approaching Greece. So we’ll see. But I can guarantee that there’ll be a huge damage bill at the end.”

So, we don’t see Nick and Audrey splitting up anytime soon when they have the potential of having a hugely successful comedic trilogy, leaving the door open for more tales to be told with them.

Furthermore, if the third movie is approved, it will make its return sometime in late 2024 or even 2025, as this time it has the chance to start production early without much restriction. We guess this timeframe is ideal to get the right balance without any rush just for the sake of getting it out on Netflix. Of course, this is just speculation, and we’ll have to wait for some time for any prominent network like Netflix to confirm these details in the near future!

In order to receive information on the release date of Murder Mystery 3, the viewers may keep a close eye on social media to learn about the status of the movie series. Until then, we’ll just have to wait and patiently watch what decision the network goes forward with.
