The ultimate showdown for the NCIS Season 20 finale is officially on the way! Here is everything we know so far.
Mark your calendars! The twentieth season of the American police procedural television series NCIS, which premiered back on September 19, 2022, on CBS during the 2022–23 television season, is coming to an end as the 22-episode season has now been confirmed to conclude next month on Monday, May 22, 2023, which is speculated to premiere at 9/8c time slot, which will initially be released for on-air broadcast on CBS and later be available to stream exclusively on Paramount Plus.
To our beloved readers, we would like to mention that the network has confirmed the official title of the episode, which is simply titled “Black Sky,” and the synopsis of the much-awaited finale revealed that the 20th season of NCIS will follow Agent Torres finds himself in prison as the team tries to stop an impending terror attack on U.S. soil. Right now, it is certain that the episode will end on an edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger that will have consequences in the already renewed historic 21st season.
When NCIS Season 20 airs its finale, it will be available to stream on Paramount+, FuboTV, and Netflix, along with all the prior seasons of this major franchise on the streaming platforms. The viewers can also stream the series by renting or purchasing it on Vudu, Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, and Google Play, with a vast number of membership plans. Moreover, the series is also available to watch exclusively on Pluto for free based on the viewer’s location.
Moreover, tvinsider.com recently released an exclusive first look at the finale episode, which teased about having a potential cliffhanger like the prior installments, where in Season 19, it ended with Parker on the run after being framed for murder and the question of whether he could trust his ex-wife. In the pictures, we can clearly see that it will be a very Torres-centric episode, as Valderrama has shaved his head and is in prison. Maybe he is undercover to get some clues we aren’t sure about it.
But it is a possibility, as, over the course of the episodes, we have learned that anything can happen in the NCISverse!
The main cast members of the season who will definitely appear in the finale episode are as follows Sean Murray as Timothy McGee, Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres, Katrina Law as Jessica Knight, Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer, Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines, David McCallum as Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard, Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance, and Gary Cole as Alden Parker.
Additionally, this is the first season to not credit Mark Harmon, who portrayed Leroy Jethro Gibbs, since the show’s first season, as he left the show. Since his departure from the NCIS series in the NCIS Season 19 episode, “Great Wide Open,” Mark Harmon has been officially removed from the intro/opening credits and is no longer a series regular.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs no longer appears in the opening credits. Instead, Sean Murray, who plays Tim McGee, starts the game. As we know, Gibbs appeared to have passed the torch to McGee in season 19, so it’s only natural that McGee’s name now appears first in the credits.
Fans may expect a lot more from the character in future episodes to brighten the world of NCIS with the same magic that Gibbs carried throughout the years!
