The NCIS-Verse isn’t going anywhere anytime soon! Here is what we now know about the renewals.
A month ago, it was announced that NCIS: Los Angeles would end with Season 14 on the CBS network, which was shocking to fans who had hoped that this day would not come so soon for this popular franchise, which has been able to build a massive loyal army of fans who faithfully tune into watching the new season each year!
This confirmation put the fandom in a bit of distress leading to much speculation that the faith of the entire NCIS-Verse might be treading on some mighty thin ice. Fortunately, after weeks of anticipation, there is finally some good news, which has been a literal ray of sunshine for the entire NCIS fandom!
Even though we know that NCIS: Los Angeles won’t return for another season, that’s not the case with the remaining two series, NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i, which have been renewed for Season 21 and Season 3, respectively, for 2023 – 2024 television season by CBS. It’s fair to say that, by the looks of it, the network understands the success and impact of these shows as much as millions of viewers around the world do.
The franchise joins the other enlisted renewals for the dramas Fire Country, The Equalizer, and the FBI franchise, as well as the comedy series Young Sheldon, Ghosts, The Neighborhood, Bob Hearts Abishola, and So Help Me Todd among other shows.
Moreover, this is not uncommon for the network to continue with the other series, as NCIS has previously done this with NCIS: New Orleans, which concluded on May 23, 2021, making it the first show in the NCIS franchise to end, the network has been experimenting this with many future shows, as emphasized by Amy Reisenbach below:
“This season CBS is continuing its winning tradition, delivering an unparalleled combination of top returning series and new hit shows that are entertaining huge audiences on both broadcast and streaming,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “It is a testament to the stellar work being done by our best-in-class talent in front of and behind the camera that we have had yet another exceptional season, and I know we will only continue to build on this foundation of outstanding programming as we look ahead toward next fall.”
NCIS Season 20 and NCIS: Hawai’i Season 2: When will the new episode premiere?
