It was only a few days ago that Netflix announced the sequel of Squid Game. Now, it seems like the popular streaming platform is about to give more surprises, and how! So, the latest piece of good news here is that the much-loved Korean drama is going to be made as a competition show soon. Netflix has announced on June 14, 2022, that Squid Game: The Challenge, a new reality show, will be made based on the original mega-hit series that won the hearts of millions around the world.

The original series

For the unversed, the original series was also titled Squid Game, and it had 456 members as competitors who joined a mysterious survival but deadly game with a reward of a whopping 45.6 billion KRW. The competitors learned the catch only after joining the game – if you do not win, you will be eliminated from this world permanently. The original series was created by writer, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong Hyuk.

The new reality series

If media reports are to be believed, the upcoming reality series will be very much like the original Squid Game and will have 456 competitors. Netflix has already released a video in which it has unveiled more details about the new show.
