With 2022 coming to an end, fans are getting more agitated with the release date of Never Have I Ever season 4. The fourth and unfortunately, the final season is not releasing on Netflix this year, which means we still have some time on our hands before we finally bid our adieus to Devi and her friends.
For those unversed, the official synopsis of the teen romantic comedy reads:
“The complicated life of a modern-day first generation Indian American teenage girl, inspired by Mindy Kaling’s own childhood.”
Season 3 of Never Have I Ever was released in August 2022 which revolved around Devi and her new relationship with Paxton as she ponders over her future in Sherman Oaks. With Devi in her senior year, it would be extremely amusing to watch her navigate her relationships with the men in her life.
We would certainly want to know what would happen with Devi in college, but unfortunately the series showcasing Devi’s high school years only seems logical. It’s indeed bittersweet to bid our adieus to one of the most critically acclaimed Netflix Original series. But we still have some time on our hands before we do that.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 is not coming to Netflix in 2022
The final season of Never Have I Ever season 4 is not coming to Netflix in 2022, since it was not enlisted in the complete list of new release titles coming in December. Season 4 wrapped filming in August 2022, which explicitly implied that it was not released in the same year. However, Netflix confirmed that the fourth and final season of Never Have I Ever will be dropping on the official streaming giant sometime in 2023.
If we take a look at the timeframe between the productions and premiere of the previous seasons of the teen romantic comedy, a 2023 release makes more sense. Season one wrapped filming in October 2019 and premiered in April 2020, whereas seasons 2 and 3 wrapped filming in March 2021 and March 2022 respectively. The latter two were released on Netflix in July 2021 and August 2022 respectively.
According to Netflix Life:
“Since Never Have I Ever season 4 completed production in August 2022, the season could have been released as early as December 2022 or January 2023. However, we think the season will be released sometime in spring or summer 2023.”
