With a total of 89 episodes over five seasons, the series was helmed by David Schulner and stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, Tyler Labine, and Sandra Mae Frank.

Will there be a New Amsterdam season 6?
Unfortunately, it’s time to bid goodbye to Dr. Goodwin and his team of doctors. As per the latest reports, NBC and the series’ makers have confirmed that New Amsterdam won’t be renewed for season 6. The network has made it official that the fifth season of the series aired on January 17, 2023, would be the last and final season of the medical drama.
We know the news is sure to upset many fans but as they say, all good things come to an end. We can be happy with the fact that the makers of the series actually had time on their hands in order to plan a proper ending, as the announcement of the final season was made in March 2022 ahead of the September 2022 premiere of season 5.
New Amsterdam’s executive producer Peter Horton, in an interview with Deadline, said, “It’s a mystery as to why it was canceled.”

New Amsterdam traces the story of Dr. Max Goodwin as he becomes the medical director of one of the United States’ oldest public hospitals, aiming to reform the neglected facility by tearing up its bureaucracy to provide exceptional care to patients.
