5 New Netflix shows coming in March 2023
1. Sex/Life season 2
Releasing on March 2nd, 2023, Sex/Life is hailed as Netflix’s steamiest original series. Achieving popularity for its iconic shower scene back in June 2021, Sex/Life is all set to return with the six-episode second season. It features the real-life couple Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos who are back for a new chapter of Billie and Brad’s affair. For those unversed, the official synopsis of Sex/life reads (courtesy of IMDb):
“A suburban mother of two takes a fantasy-charged trip down memory lane that sets her very married present on a collision course with her wild-child past.”
2. The Glory Part 2
Released its first part in December 2022, The Glory is a Netflix Original South Korean revenge-drama series, written by the Descendents of the Sun writer, Kim Eun Sook. With the second part releasing on March 10th, 2023, the revenge drama revolves around Moon Dong Eun who is daydreaming of becoming an architect in her high-school days.
Unfortunately, owing to a brutal attack by her bullies, Moon Dong Eun drops out of her school. This background sets the context of the movie, where years later, Moon Gong Eun is working in the same school where the child of her bully is now the homeroom teacher. This lays the foundation for Moon Dong Eun to plan and plot her revenge against her former bullies.
Ever since The Glory Part 1 dropped on Netflix, it amassed 148M viewing hours globally, between December 25 and January 15, 2023.
3. Shadow and Bone season 2
Based upon a titular book series, Shadow and Bone is a part of the Grishaverse by Leigh Bardugo. Season 1 premiered on April 23, 2021, and ever since then, the show observed an exponential graph, ranking as the 8th most-watched English TV show of all time. On December 8, Netflix officially announced that Shadow and Bone season 2 will be released on Thursday, March 16, 2023.
The official synopsis of the second book of the Shadow and Bone series reads:
“The Darkling has emerged from the Shadow Fold with a terrifying new power and a dangerous plan that will test the very boundaries of the natural world. With the help of a notorious privateer, Alina returns to the country she abandoned, determined to fight the forces gathering against Ravka. But as her power grows, Alina slips deeper into the Darkling’s game of forbidden magic and farther away from Mal. Somehow, she will have to choose between her country, her power, and the love she always thought would guide her—or risk losing everything to the oncoming storm.”
4. You Season 4 Part 2
Released on February 9, 2023, the first part of the fourth season of You has spiked the interest of the fans and they couldn’t wait to get more of it. Based on the books written by Caroline Kepnes, You has become one of the most critically acclaimed thrillers, with its popularity skyrocketing with the release of every new season.
Originally, the show was streaming on Lifetime before Netflix licensed it and made it an Original. Developed by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti, the series stars Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, who has stalked his favorite women in the world’s most attractive places, including New York, Los Angeles, fictional Madre Linda, and now, Paris. You season 4 is slated to arrive on the official streaming platform in two parts. The first part came out on February 9th, while the second is confirmed to arrive a month later on Thursday, March 9. Make sure you’ve marked your calendars!
5. Next in Fashion Season 2
It is one of the rarest occasions in which Netflix has resurrected canceled shows. Next in Fashion is, fortunately, one of them. Premiered in 2020, Next in Fashion is a reality series co-hosted by Queer Eye’s Tan France and designer Alexa Chung. However, Netflix then decided to cancel it after one season. As you can see, Next in Fashion is now coming with a second season and it seems, that it will be in for a long haul, because this time, it has a new co-host.
The sartorial reality series encircles 12 rising designers to create stylish and vanguard designs for not only winning a $200,000 prize but also showcasing their creations to the world. Next in Fashion season 1 involved designers competing with each other to debut their collections on the luxury retailer Net-a-Porter. The streaming giant has not mentioned whether Net-a-Porter will be featured in season 2 as well.
In season 1, Tommy Hilfiger, Eva Chen, Phillip Lim, Adriana Lima, and many more celebrated fashion celebrities were featured as judges to evaluate the performance of each designer during various challenges. Be that as it may, Netflix has not disclosed the fashion celebrities that will be featured as judges in the second season of Next in Fashion, which returns on March 3, 2023.
