Nina Dobrev and Shaun White have parted ways after 5 years of being together.
The snowboarder, 39, and the actress, 36, have called off their engagement, as confirmed by People. It was reportedly a mutual decision, but neither of the duo’s representatives has spoken about the entire matter.
However, as netizens began looking for reasons behind the celebrity couple’s breakup on social media, they came across Dobrev’s TikTok video, which she posted about a week ago. That was way before the official news about the couple’s breakup was confirmed.
The clip that has already gone viral now shows the actress lip-syncing to two women who are talking about ‘fixing’ a man. The audio began with a voiceover that says, “How do you sleep at night knowing people don’t like you?” To this, the other woman responded, “With no underwear, in case they wanna kiss my a**.”
Dobrev acted further as the audio continued with the phrase, “What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man? Listen, Bob the Builder, he’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too, and you all look like a damn construction crew.”
Just a day after posting the video, Nina Dobrev attended the premiere of Eternity at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025, without her engagement ring. Of course, White was missing from the event.

Now, Dobrev’s TikTok video has raised speculations about White cheating on her. Several netizens already commented on the post and spoke about the same allegations.
The couple’s breakup also comes as a surprise for many, as Dobrev and White were seen together on August 31 in Los Angeles as they held hands while running errands. The Vampire Diaries actress even shared an Instagram post where she included White in a photo carousel. She further wrote, “Summer doesn’t officially end until September 22nd FYI.”
The ex-couple first met during a brief encounter at an awards show in 2012. However, they came closer only in 2019 after being invited as speakers to a common event in Florida, organized by renowned motivational speaker Tony Robbins. Dobrev and White even moved in together during the COVID-19 pandemic and made their relationship Instagram official in 2020 after sharing a series of snaps together, with Dobrev giving White a haircut.
It was only last year that White proposed to Dobrev in October 2024 during a surprise dinner at The Golden Swan in New York City. He also gave her a 5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring, the one that was missing from Dobrev’s hand when she attended the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7.
