Outer Banks Season 3 Plot and Official First Look
According to Netflix Tudum, when we last saw them, they’d just lost the gold to the Camerons and washed ashore on a desert island. Season 3 picks up with the Pogues as they’re washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home, after they’ve found (and lost) a golden treasure and fled their hometown. Officially deemed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling.
But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. They’re broke and far from home, they can’t trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all?
Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together. In addition to this, Netflix released first-look images that give us a glimpse of the crew’s activities in Poguelandia, and they don’t always take place on these idyllic beaches. The Pogues have avoided all of their previous close calls with death pretty well, but will they make it through this new chapter and get their gold? Take a look at these exclusive stills below:
Outer Banks Season 3: Meet the Cast
The series regulars star Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Charles Esten who will return to reprise their roles for Season 3. Joining the cast in its third season are Andy McQueen, Fiona Palomo, and Lou Ferrigno Jr. Previously announced returning talent also includes Austin North, Charles Esten, and Carlacia Grant who has been upped to series regular for Season 3.
“The cast have been fast friends in real life pretty much from the very beginning, and it’s been so gratifying to see those connections deepen over the years we’ve worked on the show,” say the Pates and Burke. Further adding, “They are truly Pogues for Life.” Additionally, we’ll be seeing more of Cleo in the upcoming season. Carlacia Grant, who recurred as the character in Season 2, has been promoted to series regular for Season 3. The series is created by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, who will all return as showrunners and executive producers.

Outer Banks Season 3 Episodes and Streaming Options
The series is expected to have 10 episodes with an average runtime of each episode is 42 to 61 minutes, just like the prior seasons. The episode titles and synopsis apart from the pilot episode are not released by the network yet. The pilot episode is titled, “Welcome to Poguelandia,” with the synopsis stating as resources on the island dwindle, the pogues weigh their options. Ward and Limbrey make a shocking discovery. So, we would advise fans to be patient while waiting for these updates, which will be issued in the coming days, and binge-watch the first two seasons to recall the events.
When Outer Banks Season 3 draws close to its release date, the series will be available exclusively on Netflix, with other series of the same genre also accessible on the streaming platform with a range of membership options. The video quality and the number of screens you can use to stream Netflix simultaneously depend on the package you choose. The basic membership starts at $9.99/month, and the standard membership starts at $15.49/month. Outer Banks Season 3 Official Teaser Trailer
The official clip features stunning footage of island beaches with a voiceover from our hero John B (Chase Stokes) saying, “Pops always said nothing good comes easy; nothing worthy is given. The question is what are you willing to do to win? How far will you go to get your treasure?” As per the clip, Season 3 finds this treasure-hunting pack dwelling in their idyllic new home, which they’ve deemed Poguelandia.
As the teaser art shows, they’ve got everything they need: a private island, a glowing sunset view, and each other’s company. With plenty of fishing and swimming, how dangerous could things be? “The stakes are ramping up,” said series creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke. “The Pogues realize that their adventures in the first two seasons were merely the prelude to the granddaddy of all treasure hunts.” Take a look at the official teaser below:
