Outer Banks Season 3 Plot
After their near-death escape in Season 1, Season 2 saw John B (Chase Stokes) & Sarah (Madelyn Cline) on the run – and in over their heads – in the Bahamas. New friends also brought new foes as they were back on the trail of the gold, while the stakes for Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (J.D.), and JJ (Rudy Pankow) rapidly escalated at home. The $400M was still in the game, but would the uncovering of a new-found secret reunite the group for a fresh mission? The adventure of a lifetime awaited, but uncharted waters ahead meant the Pogues must do all they could to make it out alive.
Showrunner Josh Pate told Us Weekly hinting about the potential plotline for Outer Banks Season 3’s, stating there will be even more troubles for the show’s main characters to face as “the treasure hunt is going to expand, and the mythology around the treasure hunt is going to evolve and get deeper. We’re pretty fired up about how that mythology is going to expand in Season 3. We’ve been reading a lot of books, and we got some good things to hang it on.”
According to TV Line, Chase Stoke openly discussed the potential future implications of this discovery for his character, stating, that he’s “hoping to continue to tell the story for a couple more seasons”, he mused: “It wasn’t like he [Big John] was swept away by a natural disaster or whatever the case may be. It was his choice to go out and leave his son, and what does that look like? What does it look like when a kid comes face-to-face with a parent who’s left and chose to put him in these circumstances and has no idea what has happened in the meantime?”
Outer Banks Season 3 Cast and Crew
The series regulars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Charles Esten will return for Season 3. Joining the cast in its third season are Andy McQueen, Fiona Palomo, and Lou Ferrigno Jr. Previously announced returning talent also includes Austin North, Charles Esten, and Carlacia Grant who has been upped to series regular for Season 3. Additionally, we’ll be seeing more of Cleo in the upcoming season. Carlacia Grant, who recurred as the character in Season 2, has been promoted to series regular for Season 3. The series is created by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, who will all return as showrunners and executive producers.
