Ever since its debut in April 2020, Outer Banks has risen to be one of the most critically-acclaimed teen drama series shows. So much so that it has received accolades of the best drama at the People’s Choice Awards. The sad part, however, is that since the show’s return in July 2021 as a second season, the fans have been unfortunately tolerating a Pogues drought. This anticipation is piqued to another level owing to the dramatic end of its predecessor.
Considering that the fans of the show had to wait for a relatively long period for the show to renew, they certainly did not expect that they would have to wait for an even longer period for the show to arrive. But wait no more. As per the official reports, the production of Outer Banks season 3 ended in August 2022. The new season is all set to premiere on Netflix soon.
Here are all the interesting deets about the release date and time of the show on Netflix.

What to expect from Outer Banks Season 3?
The official synopsis of Outer Banks season 3 reads (courtesy of Collider):
“After losing the gold and fleeing the Outer Banks, Season 3 finds the Pogues washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home. Officially deemed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling. But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. They’re broke and far from home, they can’t trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together.”
As you must have known being the show’s fan, that season 2 ended on a cliffhanger. Amidst the war between the Camerons and Pogues, Pope’s warning, ‘It’s not over’, has piqued fans’ excitement which will certainly culminate into the third season. With the news regarding John B being alive, fans have been left with a plethora of questions as to how and why Big John is back.
Concerning the father-son tangent that season 3 will supposedly take, this is what John Pate had to say about Big John in a conversation with Entertainment Weekly:
“John B’s relationship with his dad is a huge theme and having his dad back around and eventually they’re going to meet back up and John B has to reconcile his idealized version of his dead dad with the reality of his alive dad. It gives us a lot of thematic father-son stuff to work with.”
Talking about the romantic front of the show, actor Madelyn Cline hinted to ET that season 3 of the series might delve more into the marriage prospect. Cline said:
“It’d be really fun in season 3, if we get one, to see them actually start to truly get to know each other in a very real sense. They’re married, but they actually kind of don’t know a whole lot about each other. I feel like that would be really fun. They’ve obviously been through a lot together.”
In addition, Chase Stokes, in conversation with Elite Daily, teased about a “vibe shift” in season 3, saying:
“I think a lot of loose ends are going to get tied up. A lot of questions will be answered. And per usual, these kids are going to get put through the wringer.”
