Outer Banks Season 3: What to expect in the new season?
According to Netflix Tudum, when we last saw them, they’d just lost the gold to the Camerons and washed ashore on a desert island. Season 3 picks up with the Pogues as they’re washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home, after they’ve found (and lost) a golden treasure and fled their hometown. Officially deemed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling.
But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. They’re broke and far from home, they can’t trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together.
The series regulars star Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Charles Esten who will return to reprise their roles for Season 3. Joining the cast in its third season are Andy McQueen, Fiona Palomo, and Lou Ferrigno Jr. Previously announced returning talent also includes Austin North, Charles Esten, and Carlacia Grant who has been upped to series regular for Season 3.
“The cast have been fast friends in real life pretty much from the very beginning, and it’s been so gratifying to see those connections deepen over the years we’ve worked on the show,” say the Pates and Burke. Further adding, “They are truly Pogues for Life.” The series is created by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, who will all return as showrunners and executive producers.
On the other hand, in the new key art from Season 3, we see the treasure-hunting pack chilling in their idyllic new home, which they’ve deemed Poguelandia. They’ve got everything they need: a private island, a glowing sunset view, and each other’s company. It’s a peaceful place for romance and late nights around the fire. But, this paradise won’t last long. “The stakes are ramping up,” said series creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke. “The Pogues realize that their adventures in the first two seasons were merely the prelude to the granddaddy of all treasure hunts.” Take a look at the key art below:

Outer Banks Season 3: Top Spoilers
In an interview with Metacritic, Elizabeth Mitchell, who plays the series’ scheming Carla Limbrey, teased what’s to come for her character. “I do get to hang out with Big John (Charles Halford) quite a bit, which is lovely because he’s terrific,” Mitchell said. The final scene of Outer Banks Season 2 teased this partnership since Big John told Limbrey he would help her find the shroud with healing powers if she agreed to help his son John B. “I don’t know if you’d call it ‘teaming up,’ but they are indeed together a great deal of the time, especially in the first part.” Of course, Limbrey has proven herself to be someone who can’t be trusted – she killed her half-brother in Season 2. “I don’t know that Limbrey is really a team player, let’s just say that,” Mitchell said.
Outer Banks Season 3 Episodes and Streaming Options
The season will have 10 episodes with an average runtime of 42 to 61 minutes, just like the prior seasons. The pilot episode is titled, “Welcome to Poguelandia,” with the synopsis stating that as resources on the island dwindle, the pogues weigh their options. Ward and Limbrey make a shocking discovery. The episode titles and synopsis of the other episodes, apart from the pilot, have not been released by the network yet. So, we would advise fans to be patient while waiting for these updates, which will be issued in the coming days and binge-watch season one and two to recall the events.
When Outer Banks Season 3 draws close to its release date, the series will be available exclusively on Netflix, with other series of the same genre also accessible on the streaming platform with a range of membership options. The video quality and the number of screens you can use to stream Netflix simultaneously depend on the package you choose. The basic membership starts at $9.99/month, and the standard membership starts at $15.49/month. You may play mobile games and stream movies and TV shows at no additional cost with any of their services, as per the members’ locations and preferences.
Outer Banks Season 3 Official Trailer
The previous teaser clip of Season 3 featured stunning island beaches with a voiceover from our hero, John B. (Chase Stokes), saying, “Pops always said nothing good comes easy; nothing worthy is given.” The question is, “What are you willing to do to win? How far will you go to get your treasure?” The teaser also shows, they’ve got everything they need: a private island, a glowing sunset view, and each other’s company. With plenty of fishing and swimming, how dangerous could things be?
Expanding on this, the new 2:44-minute official trailer hints that everything is about to change for this motley crew. The Pogues are embarking on their most ambitious treasure hunt yet after losing their gold to the Camerons and washing ashore on a desert island last season. Their quest will take them to El Dorado, the lost city of gold, this time. The Season 3 trailer shows the Pogues have nothing to lose, from emotional family reunions to high-speed chases.
